I finished my pre req on 6/9 and I'm still waiting to see if I can start in October. Any one else still waiting to hear back?

I'm half way through my pre-req course right now with Dr. Morales. It's really difficult staying focused for 5 hours on zoom ? Are any of you planning on attending the next program starting in October?

Is anyone else enrolling in Unitek's LVN program this fall? I'm starting the 'pre-req' portion 5/2020.

They're not requiring that at this time but they do make you complete a two week prerequisite course to show that you'll be successful in the program. Which is a waste of time and money in my opinion... But I do like the schedule of the program. I work days at the hospital so evenings are perfect for me. I requested more information from Carrington but haven't heard back yet. When I checked them out a couple years ago they didn't have a schedule that worked for me. Their LVN program was full-time only.

It's at their Sacramento campus in the Arden area off of Howe ave. The dates were off on the paperwork so I need to clarify a few things during my virtual admissions appointment this Friday. But I believe they have a co-hort that just started and another one starting this August. Class times are Monday/Wednesday 5:30pm-10:30pm and Friday 7:00am-7:30pm (I'm assuming for clinicals only?)

I've decided to finally enroll at Unitek for their LVN program. I did a tour a couple years ago but wasn't willing to spend 35k. Unfortunately, I don't have another year to wait and MAYBE get in to Sac city ? Plus, Unitek has an evening program ?‍♀️. Any one else looking into private school?

I’m so sorry ? this was my second time applying. Have you considered a private program? That’s probably what I’ll be forced to do at this point. I really don’t have time to wait a whole year...again.

I know they also select an “alternate” pool but I’m not sure how many. I can’t imagine 400 for just LVN ? I just got this email (and got excited for no reason again ?):

No updates for me yet. Has your last updated date change? Mine still says 2/26.

That's a huge relief! I wish they would have elaborated on exactly what that schedule is ? My status hasn't updated at all since 2/26. It's so much harder waiting the second time around!

Have any of you broken down and emailed SCC's nursing department yet? I'm kind of worried that the program selection will be postponed due to the major disruption to the current cohort's program. Has anyone heard anything?

I'm trying to remain positive but I can’t help but feel like we may be notified later than usual. The only positive about every thing going on is that it’s kept me distracted ?

I found out on April 22nd last year. I wish the selection process didn’t take so long ? Has anyone been selected as an alternate before?

? I’m glad they found your packet! From what I’ve read on other forums and my own experience from last year, SCC never changes the status to qualified for their LVN program. Last year mine updated to “not selected” shortly after I was notified by email.

I haven’t heard that but I’m suspicious of that as well. I noticed that this years application has you enter your TEAS score at the top. Another thing that’s kind of strange is that they required me to submit proof of my CNA cert. (last year as well). If it’s not considered why would they ask for those kinds of things? I’m full of conspiracy theories about the process now that it’s my second time around ? 72 isn’t a bad score! I know a lot of people that struggle to pass at all. My co-worker submitted her application with a score under 62.

Mine updated to received on 2/26. I feel like it took longer the first time I applied ? they’re probably still working through the list. I heard In other forums that SCC isn’t very good about keeping the system updated.
