I’m lying? Haha ok, whatever helps you sleep at night. However, where should we begin to point out your lies? Walden students have “no hands on training”. I am required to complete nearly 650 practicum hours in a variety of psychiatric settings. More specifically: 160 hours of individual psychotherapy, 160 hours of group psychotherapy, 160 hours of child and adolescent psychiatric medication management, and 160 hours of adult/geriatric psychiatric medication management. All of these hours will be completed with some of the top PMHNPs in the country. Looks like my psychiatric department is currently ranked 7th in the nation according to US News. No hard feelings, I wouldn’t be interested in working for lower ranked systems anyways haha!

Sounds like your "system" is having trouble appropriately selecting and hiring applicants. Ouch, sorry to hear that.

Actually, one thing I have noticed is the abundance of patients who are transferred to my unit due to number of incompetent providers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. "100% acceptance rate, open book exams, no lectures, no hands on training." All are completely false. Again, you are clearly uneducated.

Dodongo: The ridiculousness of your comments regarding Walden University’s Nurse Practitioner programs are both laughable and uneducated. Just because you have worked with a few students who did not take the responsibility to prepare does not mean all Walden students are incompetent. I currently attend Walden’s Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Guess where I work as an RN and have already been offered a job in Minnesota????? Look towards the south-east corner of Minnesota; the main hospital in Rochester, Minnesota specifically. You can also google the top-ranked hospital in the country according to US News for 2018/2019.
