Hi there, I just recently graduated with a BScN in a nursing program in Canada and planning to write my NCLEX-RN in June of 2019. I'm interested in working in the states (maybe NY, Boston, or Chicago?). I was wondering if there are any nurses out there who were in the same boat as me (a new grad nurse from Canada looking for career opportunities in the states) who could give me some advice/insight on how I should go about tackling this dream of mine. I'm open to travel nursing agencies but I'm not quite too sure if they are open to hiring new graduate nurses. I've seen couple of posts on here with Canadian new grad nurses getting job offers in the states with minimum job experiences and I was wondering what they did to get the job offers? Or is this a rare occurrence and is it actually quite difficult to get this kind of opportunity? I've also heard of new grad nurse residency programs offered by hospitals in the states - but how open are they in offering this kind of opportunity to Canadian nurses? I would appreciate honestly any sort of advice, big or small!! Thanks ?
