  1. Hello, I am a student in the program. I applied for finanical aid for my first bachelors and also applied for financial aid prior to entering the program this Fall 2019. I was approved. So I was able to get financial aid from FAFSA for these two bachelors. The deposit for my cohort was $500 to secure your spot. I was given also scholarship money from the school as well so that help to lower the cost before paying out of pocket. In addition, if you work for Mount Sinai or have a parent that works for the organization to you, you get a 10% discount. Luckily, I got the discount to as well. Out of pocket, I had to pay about $2500 for just this first semester. Keep in mind, this is just my situation. Others paid less or more for first semester tuition. This is just to give you an example. Also look into if you are eligible for TAP funding. I applied for TAP as a New York State résident since I did not use this scholarship fund during my first bachelors. I went to school in Philadelphia so I was able to use TAP for this second degree. Hope this helps! Tima
  2. Thanks Leah for this information! Your are amazing ?
  3. Hey Hab92, I live in Manhattan, Harlem area. From NYC too. ?
  4. Omgg! Thanks so much Leah! I was trying to look for an online program.
  5. Awesome! Thanks Leah! ? I will post some under this chat soon. Fatima
  6. No problem. Sorry I couldn’t be of help. I am trying to find someone who has done the ABSN program. It would clarify some the questions you have. Hopefully we find a student to speak with. Yup definitely Fall 2019.
  7. Hello, I am just adding a bit to what Leah said. She basically summed it up well. I sometimes work at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s. After working there and talking to the nurses, many nurses hired at this hospital are Mount Sinai graduates. There is much pride if you graduated from this institution. Most of the alumni have went on to become floor nurses, managers, and specialized nurses such as NP. It’s really motivating to hear to see such strong alumni base. The list of schools you mentioned are most fully academic institutions that serve other majors and interests. It may not be a fair comparison to a place like Mount Sinai which specializes in medicine and nursing as a medical institution. Though, I will say CUNY and SUNY schools do stand a fair chance if you would like more of an inexpensive price tag. The price for their nursing program should be manageable and less expensive than Mount Sinai. I thought about NYU, BUT A BIG DETERRENT WAS THE EXPENSIVE TUITION. I don’t think NYU price tag was worth it especially when getting a BSN. NYU nursing tuition is someone’s graduate school cost!! Nonetheless, I bet they are great schools similar to Mount Sinai. It’s just you may need to determine what’s your priority. Is it tuition cost, prestige, NCLEX pass success rate, etc. ? Regardless, this is simple my take on your question. Hope this helps! Fatima
  8. FAFSA this year is asking for 2017 tax return information. I am actually planning on applying for TAP right now.
  9. Same here. I did FAFSA, but I haven’t heard anything from the school.
  10. Hello! So far I placed my deposit for the program. Also I’m browsing around for financial support to sponsor the cost of the program until financial aid is released. The program probably may start around the 20 something of August after per-immersion. Ms. Maria Gallo stated to me in person the pre-immersion will be mostly online. They have us scheduled to come to the school only once during the pre-immersion portion of the program. Hope to get more info. Hope this helps. Fatima
  11. Hey everyone, My name is Fatima. I wanted to ask as anyone received their finanical aid package from Mount Sinai yet in the finanical aid office ? Also how is the pre-immersion program? Please if anyone can provide any info that would be great!
  12. Congrats dear! Welcome to the team! ???
  13. Wish you the best of luck! ?
  14. Thank you so much. ? Good luck to you too as well. Are you almost done with your program?
  15. Hi, Mount Sinai has the tuition online for the summer 2019 cohort, which is a total of $52,970. So our cohort should be somewhere around this price too. Here is the link with the tuition breakdown: https://www.mountsinai.org/files/MSHealth/Assets/MSBI/ABSN_TuitionFees_Summer2019.pdf
  16. Hi, Congrats! I am also trying to look for others that completed the program as well. I have been able to find a student in the summer 2019 cohort, the semester ahead of us. That’s the best information I have for now. I chose the program due to its hybrid curriculum and tuition price. I like the in person and online mixture of the program. It’s not going to only be in person. But also tuition is decent compared to other nursing schools around the city for an accelerated BSN. Side note: My former elementary music teacher was also a Mount Sinai nursing student. He loved it and spoke very highly of the program. So it also convinced me to settle for here as well. FD
  17. Hey Everyone, Just a heads up, Mrs. Gallo expressed that if you are planning to make a deposit, she suggests you come in person to do so if you live in the area. Just schedule a day you would come in to do so via email. Apparently they have had some issues with their mail. Best, FD
  18. It worked when I just tried it. It led me to the page. I requested to be added to the group. Thanks again for setting it up! ?
  19. Yay!! Congrats! ?
  20. I guess we can make a big announcement on this page and the summer page to send their Facebook names to you...through email or something. Or people can post their Facebook names here if they feel comfortable. Mine is “Fatima Absatou”
  21. Good luck! Wish you all the best! ?
  22. No I don’t think so. Can you start one?
  23. Oh ok. I submitted March 18th and I heard back today, 4/5. Wishing you the best of luck.
