Hi! Congrats on getting in! We actually just completed our first semester of clinicals. We were placed at either Hemet, Carlsbad, or Encinitas. Honestly, a lot of stuff is in the air due to covid right now. We aren’t sure where we’ll be for the Spring semester clinicals, but I’ve heard of Hemet, Riverside and Balboa being options. Every student does not do the clinicals at the same location. For the first semester, you typically go to a SNF, and subsequent semesters, you go to a hospital and I believe the location can change semester to semester so it’s never a guarantee you’ll be in the same place for two semesters. For your first semester, you won’t have clinicals. A lot of students live in the San Marcos area, hope that helps!

I also have submitted my intent to register and my financial responsibility acceptance but haven’t received any information about a background check. Perhaps they will send out the information when the cohort is full.

I hope so cause the group's name is "CSUSM ABSN Cohort 36" :)

Conditional acceptance is contingent on passing our background tests and drug screens, but does anyone want to start a Facebook group? Or I can start one haha

My application status changed from “completed” to “admitted” today!!!

I will be in a hot mess if we don’t hear back by the end of next week (October 4th) I wish they would give us a date so we aren’t waiting anxiously for weeks

I have been waiting for September 18th ever since I read this about a month ago; I really hope we hear back tomorrow!

How do you know your application is now being considered for the Spring 2020 cohort? Did they send you some sort of confirmation?

What is conditional admittance?

Here is the email I received from one of the admissions people.

:( I emailed them awhile ago to check, but they said that they take the first grades to satisfy the requirements so I don’t think you can retake it elsewhere for better points in prenursing core. You can keep taking classes to up your last 60 units GPA and for sure with the TEAS also.

May I ask how high your point score is? I just want to know if I get offered a spot fall semester if it’s okay to decline and wait until spring semester. It’d be better for me financially but I don’t want to turn down a for sure something for a low possibility.
