Hopefully!! I totally forgot about the high school marks, how do those get taken into consideration? Will they be apart of the pre-req GPA? Or is it more just marked for completion?

BCIT September 2019 Intake Discussion
Right! Good luck to us!! I think I am most nervous about my cGPA since it is lower than 3.0, but since you got into the 2nd stage with it being similar to mine, I hope I can get in as well...

So basically what happens is, BCIT will rank you based on 1) Academic status (more credits/holding a Bachelor's will be given more points) 2) Work experience (health related work experienced is ranked higher) 3) GPA (both cGPA/pre-req GPA) and then if you make the cutoff, you will be offered the questionnaire, in which they will rank you again and offer the best 64 applicants spots, with the rest going on the waitlist? Interesting that BCIT doesn't take into consideration volunteer experience (unless it is a tie) because honestly most students cannot afford to work in the hospital or clinics due to academic obligations.

That makes a lot sense! Thank you for the amazing detailed response, I really appreciate the time you're taking to answer my questions. I will definitely pass on this information for future applicants! Just one more question since our applications are very similar, is that for the questionnaire, why do you think that you didn't do so great on the questionnaire? Did the advisers feedback say that it was more based upon how you wrote or the sheer content, in terms of the connections you made or a little bit of both? Or did other things come into play like your entire application? I definitely know you're going to make it in this time!!!

I feel like you will definitely make it in this time, especially now that you can gain maximum points for having a Bachelors! For the questionnaire, was it more about phrasing what you did in your roles or the actually jobs you did?

Wow your application looks amazing well! If I may ask, is this your 1st time applying? If not, did you possibly get any feedback from previous applications? What did the advisors say?

BCIT September 2019 Intake Discussion
Hey guys! I'm planning to apply with the following and I'm not sure if it is competitive?: A&P 1/2: Both B+ Psychology: A+ Statistics: A Microbiology: A- English: B - This should make my pre-req GPA 3.5? Assuming it's a 4 point scale, 3.56 if it's on a 4.33 scale. I am applying with a 110 credits and finishing up my Bachelor's of Sciences. Unfortunately my cGPA is kind of low (2.95), would that have any effect on my application? I currently work with the Nurse Next Door Program, and have previous experience in customer service, most notably through being a manager at a coffee shop and a barista at another. Would those customer service jobs also apply on my application? I have also volunteered a lot through Cardiac Rehab, Renal Unit, Recreational Therapy, One to One Visitor at senior homes and hospitals! It's great to meet you guys and thank you in advance for answering my questions!
