  1. I'm also unselected and unevaluated. I don't understand how they can leave so many unevaluated but some of the unselected have been marked eligible for days or even weeks. It seems like this year was no different in them not knowing how to run the lottery fairly and smoothly.
  2. Ooo you're right with me! It's been a mess every year for only this program. There is no method to their madness. If you call they probably don't know much more than we do LOL. This is definitely my last year. The stress of just trying to get in has made me think nursing isn't for me.
  3. I just checked bc I was curious if things have changed.. gurnick requires 2 semesters of their GE prerequisites as part of the RN program so there's no way around taking those classes again (eng, math, soc, etc) the only accelerated option is if you have your lvn already and that still requires taking their GE prereqs for 2 semesters it only shortens the RN classes. They also require an interview, letters of recommendation, an essay, and community service work to apply to the program.
  4. I could be wrong now but when I explored the private options all of them had their own pre read that you HAVE to take with them and FCC courses don't transfer over. Forcing you to pay them more money for classes you already took and extending the time until you are actually in an RN program. For me I decided it wasn't worth it for what their backed pass rates were at the time. But that was 3-4 years ago.
  5. Did you get unselected yet?? Or are you assuming since it's still pending ?? this was my final year applying and since I have to retake the TEAS to be eligible again I decided to change career paths. I've been tattooing for a little bit now so I'm just going to apply myself there and hopefully get into a shop. I explored private schools at sjvc and gurnick but neither seemed like a logical option for me.
  6. The selected always get changed first and (if it's like previous years) they do the changes manually. I think this year they may have done the merit based pull yesterday and started changing them late last night and then did the random selection lottery today and are now in the process of updating. But in the past I've been pending all the way thru until it switches to unselected the next day. In all my times applying to this program they have never had the results posted when they say they will. It's almost 6:30 and I'm still pending but I've seen several got changed to selected last night and eligible several weeks ago. But they had very high MCS points.
  7. I wish everyone that applied got a link to these forums so we could do polls and know more of how many have changed and such LOL instead of it just being a few in different groups on here and facebook im also still pending and it's almost 6:20 I'm preparing for no change until tomorrow and being unselected for my final time ?
  8. Unfortunately that's just how it goes... I've been in these forums with Barbie1181 and I'm in the same boat as her. FCC changes the way the lottery is pulled every year and they don't care how many times we've been thru all this stress. FCC is the only feasible option for me as well yet year after year I see people get accepted on their first or second try and get into multiple programs but choose to take a seat at FCC. While there are ppl like Barbie1181 and myself that keep our fingers crossed for this ONE program. This is definitely my last year dealing with it because I'm not going to pay to take the new TEAS or retake prerequisites. I've already started a career path change that is going well.
  9. That makes sense and I hope that's what they're doing LOL I'm still pending
  10. Oh dang you definitely had high points for the MCS then!! I think that played a major roll this year. I only got an 82 for TEAS and GPA is low (3.2) The closer your points are to 100 the more likely you are to be selected. Congratulations again! Can you 2 that were selected still log in? I'm getting an error message now. Last time that happened it meant unselected. Only the selected could log in. Until the next day.
  11. If you don't mind sharing, what was your MCS points ? I think the points played a big roll this year.
  12. Congratulations to you both for getting in!! In previous years it hasn't seemed to make a difference on last name (or first name) in correlation with the results being posted or the eligibility changing. However, it does seem like the results are manually entered. So a person had to manually go in and change each persons status to eligible/ineligible and selected/unselected. So once every selected persons profile has been manually updated they will do a big switch all at once to everyone else that shows unselected and also opens up the site to accept your seat if selected.
  13. First year I applied it was not merit based in any way. Just lottery and the MCS. They have done the lottery differently tho every year I've applied. Just in the way they post results. Last year they only reviewed applications for eligibility if they were selected. The year before they reviewed everything and then pulled the lottery. It's confusing every year. a couple years ago the unselected got error messages when checking the lottery and only the selected could get thru... it was really messed up.
  14. Oh there's people I've met in these forums that didn't get in till their 7th try! But trying to keep an optimistic mind.. at least they got in. But this is my last year trying because I don't want to retake the TEAS and it won't make much difference for me point wise. If anything it'd be worse all these years later I've forgotten a lot.
  15. It's hard to know because it's been different every year. Mines always said pending and I've never been selected. The only time mine switched to eligible before going to unselected was 4 years ago (my first time applying) and it changed the day of the lottery. Mine is currently pending but I've heard several people have been changed to eligible for a few weeks so I'm just gunna go ahead and prepare for disappointment once again. I would take that as a good sign and keep your fingers crossed. Mine is still pending ? Good luck to you tho!!
  16. This is my 5th and final year applying. If I don't get in I'll be changing career paths ? every year there's problems and changes with the lottery process.. FCC has crushed my career dreams at this point.
  17. It’s changed every year on how they manage the results. It’s ridiculous! I understand why we are locked out right now due to it crashing in previous years but now we can’t even see if we have been marked ELIGIBLE before the lottery. Last year I never knew bc it changed from pending to and error message to unselected. I wish they’d expand the class size to accommodate more since they get over 1200 applications.
  18. Yup! I’ve been with you in these threads every year LOL. I hope this is our year!! But instead of stressing and getting angry when I don’t get in I’ve decided it will happen when the time is right and I’m enjoying being a SAHM while I wait. We should all focus on enjoying Easter with family and hopefully we get good news next week.
  19. Honestly, this year I’m not nervous. It’s my 4th time applying and I’ve gotten pretty discouraged. Everyone I kept in touch with from the pre req classes have all gotten in and either completed the program or are currently in it. If it’s meant to be it will be, but I’m not stressing out this time around. Also, many nurses are changing their career paths because of the RaDonda Vaught case. So I don’t get why it continues to be so difficult to get into a program when there was already a RN shortage and now it’s getting worse.
  20. I agree. Remember last year and the year before! there is always a crashing issue. Maybe this is how they are going to avoid that this year. Not let us obsessively check daily and crash the site when they are inputting results.
  21. Is anyone else having trouble logging in to the application link ? Where it would usually ask for the student ID and password it just has a red message. I just logged in yesterday and it wasn’t like this.
  22. Also my 4th time applying. It showed up two days before the lottery on my first try and the 2nd time it changed the day of, 3rd time it never changed went straight from pending to unselected. If you met with a counselor they should’ve calculated your points, they don’t put the point system because I think it can vary (which is messed up).
  23. By any chance do you know if it's OK that my documents are pdf ? I could get things saved any other way
  24. oooh OK gotcha. I just wanted to clarify because the question you responded to was asking about "transcripts/TEAS" so I was assuming that meant the TEAS transcripts when you have more than one attempt. And those DO have to be resubmitted through the new online way.
