LASW, LACC, LAHC, LA pierce - Fall 2019
From what they told me when I picked up the acceptance packet, there will be about 5 or so options of hospitals that we will have an opportunity to choose from on orientation day. We will pick out numbers to choose which hospital we want to do clinicals at, and about 8 students are assigned per hospital. So some students will get their first choice if they pick a low number, and so on. But I asked my friend that went to Valley for nursing several years ago and she said back then the options were: Valley Presb., Sherman Oaks, Kaiser, UCLA, Veterans Hospital. For mental health, it was like County or Gateways... Don't quote me, that's just what I heard... Has anyone else gotten word of acceptance? I'm looking forward to meeting all of you that got accepted!!... And sending lots of positive vibes & energy to those in the process!

LASW, LAHC, LAVC, LA Pierce, LACC- Fall 2019
Valley also called me on Friday, and asked for my TEAS results and said we will go from there. They didn't specify if I was accepted into the program or not. Are they asking everyone to send their TEAS results or those who are accepted? Did anyone else get a call to have their results sent to the school? Thank you guys!

Did anyone else re-take the TEAS exam this weekend? Is everyone else's TEAS score from an approved ATI testing site, or paper/pencil version taken at Cal State LA? I had to re-take the TEAS this weekend at Cal State due to PCC's strict TEAS requirements. I am hoping the results are posted by the morning so I can turn in my application since tomorrow is the deadline.

How is it possible for Pierce to tell some applicants that they will be notifying students this week or next week, but have already sent acceptance letters to other applicants? It either means they are completely unorganized, misleading, & mysterious, or someone is really bored.... I am not really sure what to believe, but I will call Pierce tomorrow and see if I can get some clarification. Either way... congrats on receiving acceptance and good luck to the rest of us!

OMG... sorry, I misread your message...I did not apply to LACC, I applied to Pierce & Valley College and assumed you meant a call from LACCD- meaning the district not LACC specifically... LOL oops!! So ya, I was worried for a moment there that I wasn't eligible--- but sending positive vibes your way!! Good Luck!

Is everyone aware that PCC only accepts Paper/Pencil version of TEAS score if taken at Cal State LA? Otherwise, they only will accept online version score if taken at an ATI approved location. I found this out yesterday and now have to re-take the TEAS...

Mine is looking like 70-75 points depending on if my "Critical Thinking" class will be accepted or not. I will have to go to the counseling office for them to check for me. What about everyone else...?

Does anyone know if Pasadena College has a recency policy for its core science pre-requisites? I took all pre-requisites about 8 years ago and had to re-take them again for certain schools. I've completed all but Physio, which I am taking now and will be done June 2nd. On Pasadena's nursing program website, it says "We highly recommend that basic science courses: chemistry, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology are completed within the past five years with a grade of “C” or higher"... However, it doesn't say REQUIRED to be within the past 5 years so I was wondering if anyone knows if I could use my Physio grade from the past to apply for this fall since I won't have my current Physio grade until after the application window. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Sorry, I am not too sure if they're just assigning the #'s in a few weeks or actually calling out accepted "lotto" positions... She was very brief about it, and I didn't want to ask too many questions while she was passing out the TEAS booklets. We will find out soon enough! Stay patient guys! Hoping for some good news soon! I went and applied to Valley College's nursing program today...their application is so vague...Only 1 page, and basically personal info only. I swear, this lotto system is ridiculous...I wonder if my chances of drowning or getting hit by lightning are higher than nursing school acceptance...LOL All jokes aside, let's all think positive...we'll get accepted soon enough! ...My friend just started at West Coast 2 weeks ago and she said they changed some of their requirements. They require a "bootleg" version of the TEAS for entrance into their nursing program, and it doesn't matter if you have already taken the TEAS before! They make you take their version of it, but it's supposedly easier, and it's incorporated into their classes...not sure exactly how that works...Makes me dread even thinking about going there if all other options fail... fingers crossed!!

Hey future Rn's... I took the TEAS yesterday and it was not easy! But I am happy it's over and proud to say I got an 84%! The scores are already uploaded into the ATI website... It was much harder than I anticipated so I am happy about the results! Did anyone else take the test yesterday? How did you guys do?
