  1. Hey guys, I also sent a Facebook request for the group (a few minutes ago). Can't wait to meet everyone! ?
  2. Can't wait to commiserate with you and plan our futures!!! Congrats ?
  3. Agreed!!! 2nd time is a charm for @bkturtle??
  4. CONGRATS TO EVERYONE!!! I received the call about 2 hours ago. I am beyond grateful and super excited to meet you all!!! ?
  5. Do you think it will be a phone call if we get in and an email if we don't? ?
  6. I'm doing the same thing!! LOL? ???Crossing my fingers for us all!
  7. I'm not sure if they are due then, but it would definitely be wise to start looking into it. I believe the fire card we need is the blue one. You can get BLS through an AHA certified vendor. There are multiple locations and times for this, and it only takes about 4 hours.
  8. This looks so awesome!
  9. The waiting is so nerve wracking!!! I have to agree with you about the loan issue. It is going to be tough wherever we end up, but so worth it in the end. I will also be looking for government and private loans and hopefully a scholarship or two. You are correct that there are so many opportunities in nursing; it certainly is not a stagnant career. We might have to "pay our dues" at first, but the upward mobility is there, which is very exciting. I am also in my 30s, @jleegato, and did not save a ton for this like I should have. But I am grateful to have familial support for the basics (living expenses, books, etc.). I am saving as much as I can now while working since I know I'll have to drop to per diem (or no work) when I get into school.
  10. Wow, reading is fundamental. I could have saved myself half a day, lol. ? I think I was so nervous/excited that I missed that part! Oh well. Thanks for letting me know about the pin and GET. We're all in the waiting game together!??
  11. Agreed, it is very stressful. Inputting my transcripts took forever since my previous bachelor's degree is from out of state, lol. Have you gotten your PIN yet?
  12. Thank you for clearing this up! I got the email today and was wondering. Glad I checked the thread!
  13. Congratulations! What day is your interview? I got an invitation last week and have mine set for next Tuesday. Looking at last year's thread, it seems like there will be two writing prompts to answer within 25 minutes. Who knows though, they may switch it up year by year. I am also excited and nervous!
  14. Wow, great TEAS scores! Congratulations. Have you heard back yet? My TEAS score was 90.7% raw, which translated to the 99th percentile nationally. I went through a tough period during my undergrad, but managed a 3.36 GPA. I did much better with my prereqs and got a 3.88 GPA. I have been a CNA for almost 2 and a half years, working first at a SNF, then assisted living, and now a hospital. I also am just becoming a Unit Secretary at my hospital, which will help me learn the more administrative side of things. I think experience is very important to them, especially since my undergrad GPA wasn't the highest. Another factor that may have played a role was that I took Micro and Physio together last semester and got an A in both while working. That is just a guess, however!
  15. BTW, this school and CSUN ABSN are my top choices. Other schools that I will be applying to are Valley, Pierce, and maybe COC.
  16. Hi everyone! I sent my application in on the last day (January 10th). I just finished my prereqs and took the TEAS in late December. I did receive a confirmation email saying that my application was complete on Wednesday, January 16th. Does anyone want to share their prereq/TEAS scores? I know this program is super competitive. Good luck to all!!
