@hm97 @Duckygirl8203 Okay, I just had my meeting with the counselor and it pretty much reiterates what Duckygirl8203 said. As a post-bacc student, you only qualify for $12,500 a year until your previous loans plus whatever you need for Seattle U total $57,500. At that point, you will no longer qualify for federal student loans. The nursing school provides $4,000 in loans per year that show up in your financial aid portal in late August/early September. At that point, you need to go to seattleu.edu -> private loans and you will see the list of private loan venders. This includes Sallie Mae, Wells Fargo, Discover, and a few others I didn't recognize. The total cost of tuition for the first year which includes a nursing fee of $463 each quarter is $48,129 for someone like me who is not living on campus. She told me to start getting in touch with these private venders at the end of May in order to have everything ready by fall. She also directed me to HRSA.gov which are the scholarship resources for post-bacc nursing students that SU's financial services recommends. So, even though they are competitive and a lot of work, I will probably spend the entire month of April trying to get a least one scholarship. Like Ducky, I also have $5000 tuition reimbursement at my facility so at least I can pay that back to my private loans at the end of the year. One question I didn't ask was whether joining Phi Theta Kappa would be worth it. I keep getting an invitation to join even though my parents made me join during my first undergraduate degree. I never did anything with Phi Theta Kappa except for getting to wear cords to my graduation. If anyone has any insight on whether joining would be worth it for scholarships, I would love the feedback. Otherwise, I'm going to call Financial Services again tomorrow and ask them if it would help at all. Hope this helps other post-bacc students like myself. I was definitely freaking out in her office and I felt close to tears. She kept telling me that this is an incredibly good investment and that I'm entering a really amazing career. I figured, if I was willing to pay for medical school before I shifted gears, I can make this work too.

I got my financial aid awards yesterday. I received a email and then looked at it on the portal. Unfortunately for me, it’s not enough in loans and I don’t qualify for any scholarships so I’m freaking out. I’m going down there today after work to figure it out with an advisor. So you should be getting an email soon and you can also keep checking your portal. I wonder if anyone else is in the same boat as me!

@Anjee.b don't get discouraged!! I was just accepted into SU after being rejected from UW's ABSN program. I also didn't get into the Seattle Colleges twice because I had my transcript evaluated at South Seattle College but found out it was supposed to be evaluated at Seattle Central College to qualify. I was pretty upset about that because I was told I could get it evaluated at South but then was rejected because my application wasn't "complete." Before I got into SU, I was planning on meeting with Adrian to discuss how to make my application stronger for the next cycle. I also attended an info session at UW after I received my rejection, and Adrian was really thorough about what exactly they are looking for in their application prompts. I was planning on making the changes for my BSN application but then I decided to apply to SU instead because they didn't require a recommendation letter. If you have your heart set on UW and you don't get in, I would definitely meet with Adrian and work on improving your application, work experience, volunteer experience, etc. There's also all of the private schools, SPU, SU, PLU, that offer amazing scholarships for undergraduate students that help bring down the larger price tag. You could also consider the ADN programs since those colleges tend to start fall, winter, and spring so you wouldn't have to wait an entire year to apply again. I hope this helped, I was definitely in your same shoes and wondering if I would ever get in and I finally did!

I don't think it really matters. I've looked at previous years' threads and it didn't seem to have a specific pattern to clue you in on whether you were accepted. I guess, since it's the only thing that has changed on the application site, it's easy to ponder what it means, lol.

It's always nice to know you aren't the only one having panic attacks whenever they get a new email notification. I'm also working as the HUC today instead of CNA, so my email and application tabs are open and I just keep refreshing every 30 minutes. It would be so nice to just find out and prepare for whatever is going to happen, lol.

I'm freaking out too everyone! My application hasn't been updated since 3/12. I'm so glad I had the weekend to not stress but now that it's Monday...I'm stressing out all over again!

Click "Go to detail review" and the date should update from 12/01/18 to the most current date.

I’m not really sure, are you clicking go to detail review? When you click that, it should show the updated dates. In the thread last year, someone mentioned that an updated date was a good thing but then someone who kept posting about their dates didn’t get in anyway. So it probably doesn’t matter...I’m just trying to stay positive!
