Hi @isarey85 I'm not sure if I'm remembering the first and second kits all together but there was things like gauze, transparent dressings, Foley catheter kit, sterile gloves, IV tubing, saline bag, NG tubes, alcohol swabs, syringes, cotton tip applicators. Stuff like that. In regards to books, I personally prefer physical books but it really just depends on each person. I don't like not having a physical book in my hand but that's just my preference. With the purchase of our first set of books, we got ebook access as well (through Elsevier) so you won't have to actually haul your books everyday unless you are told to actually bring it. Hope that helps.

College of San Mateo-2020 applicants
Hi @SirGerms I absolutely love CSM. Especially the nursing faculty and professors. They have all been great thus far and I really enjoyed my first year. The first year was challenging yet fun at the same time. Of course, like any other nursing program, it has its challenges and trying times. I don’t come from a medical background and everything was completely new to me, but like I mentioned, the professors are always there to help you if you’re having trouble with anything and you can also count on your classmates to help you as well. Not sure what the plan is for us as 2nd years or for you guys as 1st years due to coronavirus but I’m sure Janis is working hard to get us some form of clinical assignments. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’d love to help. I remember what it was like stepping into the unknown. I’ll leave my Instagram here and then we can exchange info and text if that’s easier. I’m excited to meet all of you and wish you all the best! Insta: _nursejay_

CSM - College of San Mateo - 2019 applicants
Hi Cindy, I can't remember exactly what the requirement was but I took Chem 30A at Mission College in Santa Clara and that worked for me. Not sure what other students took. Hope that helps.

Does anyone know if anyone else has been accepted or moved up on the waitlist since the orientation? I'm still hopeful that I'll get an email but I really won't know until July 11th when the deadline comes around.?

Thanks Oleenie. I've been checking in with Judith weekly just to see if there are any changes but nothing yet. I feel bad for bugging her but she's been very sweet and helpful. I'm not sure how many people are still on the fence about CSM but I think I'll just go ahead and start working on CastleBranch. I think it's worth spending the money just in case I move up and get accepted.

HI guys! Thanks for your response MISA1992. I was actually able to attend the orientation yesterday. Thank goodness! I hope your CNA exam went well. I emailed Judith this morning and she said I am waitlist #4! OMG!? I really hope I get in. Does anyone know how long the top 50 have to accept their spots?

If you don't mind me asking, what was your place on the waitlist? Maybe I can call and get info on where I am at on the waitlist?

Question. I am on the waitlist and I'm trying my hardest to attend tomorrow's orientation. For those of you that got accepted and had pre-planned events, did you reach out at the office to see if they would accommodate you or what advice they had for you? It sucks not knowing if you're towards the top or bottom of the waitlist. I hope I can make it.

EVC FALL 2019
I'm embarrassed to say. Lol. I didn't do as well as I would have liked on the TEAS test. I feel like it's pointless to retake it since most places take your first attempt. I'm hoping that if I don't get in this year, then by next year I can have Pharmacology and Patho done so I can get those extra ten points.

EVC FALL 2019
Thank you! Good luck to you as well. I don't know if I like the point system but we'll see how it goes. As you mentioned, this is the first time Evergreen is using the point system so there's no one you can really ask about it. I have 8 schools I'm applying to so I hope I get a yes from one. How's the program so far? Would you say it's really hard or is it a pretty manageable workload?

EVC FALL 2019
Hi everyone! Just wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to Evergreen Valley College for the Fall 2019 Nursing Program. Just wanted to have a place for everyone to ask questions or share their experience with the application process. Finishing up my application this week. I know this is the first group using the Multi-Criteria process so it's hard to really have anything to compare it to. Good Luck to everyone! As we await the closing of the application period, we can all share our thoughts here.
