  1. Just curious, has anyone heard if NYU has orientation in Oct?
  2. Yep! What the ^ comment said. It's float pool!
  3. Hey I ended up also interviewing for the resource team. Mine had the typical situational scenarios and some other clinical questions which initially threw me off a bit. But overall not too bad. Feel free to PM me
  4. Any new updates? Cant believe its taking so long.
  5. Hi, I am quoting what she told me. The “several weeks” can really mean anything! Most of us in this forum have interviewed with NYU many months back and have been put on a waitlist bc of covid freeze. The freeze is slowly being lifted & as far as I know NYU is only filling certain positions right now
  6. I know its definitely a lot to learn and I’m sure ICU float is intimidating. But I am sure they set new grads up for success in these positions. These positions are open to both new grads and experienced nurses
  7. Update, my recruiter informed that freeze is slowly lifting. It will take several weeks for specialty positions to place their “waitlist” interviewees. For now they are filling float med/surg & float ICU. my friend also got a call from NYU Brooklyn campus for an interview.
  8. Yeah he is! He is going for critical care/ICU
  9. Not sure about the whole freeze being over. I am hoping my recruiter updates me soon. And I’ll update you guys once my friend updates me
  10. I havent but one of my friends is interviewing next week. They sent him some units that are hiring and asked to see if he wanted to interview for any.
  11. That awesome! CONGRATS! Where did you start? NYU has my ideal job so I hope they start filling positions by Sept!
  12. Spoke to my recruiter and she seemed hopeful and said the freeze should be ending “very soon.” They will then look over current needs and fill the positions according to the waitlist. as always she added to reach out in 5 weeks unless she reaches out before. Staying as hopeful as possible ??????
  13. Hang in there! I would also suggest applying in Upstate NY, if you are okay with moving! I know Albany & Binghamton & Rochester are always hiring new grads (I have had a lot of my classmates get jobs there)! As for HR, I did not know that they would prolong this freeze till Spring! They have not told me anything further than, reach back in 5 weeks each time I email ?
  14. Does anyone have any updates? also has anyone accepted a job not in NYU? How is the freeze affecting your job perspectives?
  15. I hope you get the job as well! don't lose hope, keep applying! Because of the freeze, everything is moving so so slowly! I’m in the offer waitlist which means that after the freeze, they will assess their needs and start giving final offers to those who have not already accepted. It's not a lot but its something, I’m just getting impatient. Good luck & keep us posted!
  16. I began interviewing in May, before I graduated. It took about 3-4 weeks before manager interview and then I was offered to be put on waitlist the same day after I interviewed with the manager.
  17. Hi guys, I’m a new grad who recently just got their license. It's been super hard to get interviews with all the covid hiring freezes! I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share mount Sinai recruiter info with me. I have applied to job with them but I know the freeze is slowing things down. So I would really appreciate if anyone can private msg me some potential resources at Mount Sinai! Thanks in advance!
  18. I emailed mine yesterday but no new info. She said the same thing as the past two times I have reached out, “ you’re still a viable candidate for hire...there has been no updates regarding hold...please reach back in 5 weeks.” It’s super disheartening, because I have been in the waitlist for so long. My friend who interviewed recently was offered to be put on the waitlist, but his hiring manager also said to keep his options open as she didn't know when this freeze will end. On a different note, does anyone have any recruiter info for Mount Sinai? I would appreciate a private msg if anyone does!
  19. I applied to a bunch of hospitals including NYP, MSK, Mount Sinai. If there were apps available, there’s a good chance I applied to it. But I know a lot of hospitals like Msk is also having a hiring freeze right now ☹️
  20. Has anyone who got accepted in an offer wait list hear anything back on the updates for hiring freeze! Or have a orientation date?
  21. The nursing manager interview for me was very easy compared to everything else. The nurse manager only asked me like two simple questions but was more interested in sharing her expectations and the type of unit it is
  22. Yes! They put you on an offer waitlist till the spaces open up (because of the current freeze). Every unit if different and their space for new grads vary esp now. I havent taken my boards yet but I was told to connect back as soon as I pass. Hopefully the freeze will end by then too!
