When did your packet go to the board? And when did they say the next ODS class was June? I was chosen as a med surg nurse (found out in October) and was told I should be in the April ODS class, hoping to go in Feb if a seat opens

Navy ODS in June
Hey guys I know this is an older thread but I have found some very useful info! I was just recently accepted into the Naval nursing corps and I'm waiting to get my ODS orders. Does anyone remember how long it takes to get ODs orders and also my recruiter told me my detailer will contact me in November but I've heard you should contact them first because they are busy. I made a duty preference sheet with my recruiter but would like to change one of the Duty stations. My recruiter told me I should be able to commission in December then go to ODS in January or February. Super excited and super anxious. Would just love to have orders

Interviews aren't bad at all, they basically just want to get to know you, why you want to join the navy etc..mine was more of just a friendly conversation then an interview

Navy Nursing Duty Stations
Hi anchorRN. I was wondering if you could help me. I know this post was from awhile ago. I applied for direct accession to be a naval officer. I have been a nurse for almost three years and I am credentialed in med-surg. my application was supposed to be reviewed September 15 so I am waiting to hear back from them. do you know how long it takes for the board to give an answer and how long I wait for orders ect. is there a way to see what duty stations need RNs. its been a long process and I'm just anxious for some answers. thanks you

@gabby_101 I can totally relate to your recruiter not being proactive. mine has messed up and prolonged my application process. I was supposed to go to ODS in august then it got pushed back and he didn't even submit my application until august so I had to wait for the September board to meet. so now hopefully I hear something soon since they met last week. hoping there are med-surg spots available and I can go to ODS asap

FY 19 Navy Nursing
Hey there! I am currently waiting to hear back from the board to see if I am selected. I applied for Active Duty and credentialed in Med-Surg. I've been an RN for over 2 years. with 1 1/2 years in trauma/med-surg and about 8 months in critical care. its been a longgggg process and I'm just anxious to get an answer. At this point I will take any position and go anywhere they need me. I'm just ready to be a US naval nurse. does anyone know how long it takes the board to get the decision back to my recruiter? my recruiter doesn't seem to know much or at least share a lot of info with me which is frustrating. I would love to commission and go to ODS before the end of the year but from what I hear the chance is slim and I may have to wait until jan/feb. anyways I'm done rambling. good luck to everyone who is applying!
