  1. Just wanted to confirm that this is true! I didn’t get an email, but I called the office again and she checked it for me! Will be paying the $70 tonight! Would double check if you haven’t paid the $70! You can also call ‭(323) 343-3195‬ for assistance. Shauntelle (sp?) is super helpful! They close at 6 PM today.
  2. 1. I know for myself I had AP scores which got me out of taking a few college courses. I sent those AP scores around the time I applied for the nursing program. I don't think you need to send TEAS to CSULA because it was just for the nursing program. But definitely send any AP/CLEP/IB test scores....I called around last week to make sure they got those AP scores in the system and she told me yes, and that it was good that I had sent those. 2. Congrats! I think as long as you finished everything on your to-do list you're fine. You definitely want it to say "complete". That's the final step. 3. I think after we send our final transcripts around June? We just sent the one that has up to LAST Fall semester grades. Now they're waiting for us to complete our Spring semester so we can send them our grades for that. That's the last step...
  3. Call ‭(323) 343-3195‬ & let them know your situation. This is the office for the orientation! They’re really nice and helpful.
  4. They’re super nice though ? I think the girl’s name was Joanne? Please let us know when they call you!
  5. Not sure about the first part..But I also didn’t pay anything ? Which was surprising since they told me to make sure to pay the $70. Please update if you find out anything!
  6. They fixed it and gave me a call! Should be up and working now! Apparently it's a two day orientation? We gotta go to both July 16th and July 17th? I'll give Ms. Yvette a call once she gets back from her vacation!
  7. I called CSULA’s office for the orientation and told them the same thing...The girl on the phone told me to give her my phone number and they’d “fix” it for me by the end of the week. She said they were gonna call me when it’s resolved? So I’m honestly not sure what’s going on but I called in today as soon as I got that email!
  8. Also, I sent my transcripts as soon as I got accepted too...But the transcript portion of my to-do list hasn’t been checked off or anything! Still says “initiated”. I checked and the places I ordered transcripts from said they were already “completed” or “processed”. Should I call admissions and double-check on that?
  9. To be completely fair, I was gonna recommend Arcadia as well but that area is DEFINITELY a lot pricier. Well, for rent anyways. So is Pasadena ?I think Alhambra is better than El Monte like....10000000000%. No offense to anyone who lives in El Monte! I just think Alhambra is a nice, safe, convenient, and perhaps the cheapest of all places listed!
  10. Hi! Welcome to the 626 ☺️ I think out of all the places you’ve listed so far, Alhambra is definitely the best candidate—in my own PERSONAL opinion. I think the best part of living in Alhambra is that you’ll be SUPER close to the Asian hub that makes 626 the “new” Chinatown. You’ll have access to Chinese/Taiwanese/Vietnamese and even some Korean/Japanese restaurants/eats! You like boba? Look no further. There’s practically a boba shop on every street. Main St. on Alhambra is also a cool place to hang out. There’s a ton of restaurants in that area and a movie theater too! Also, don’t worry about access to a freeway. Alhambra is close to one as well so it shouldn’t be too long of a drive to CSULA. I think I’m about a “12 minute” drive to campus but I think that’s without traffic—& I also live in a city near Alhambra.
  11. Number 2 we made it! Congrats to everyone else! Can't wait to see y'all during the orientation!
  12. Next Tuesday! My friend who is at CSULA heard from them. Waitinggggg
  13. Also, I know in the email it said to pay $100 by May something...Has anyone jumped the gun and paid that fee? I know last year, some people did it and ended up going somewhere else/not being accepted into the program and the money wasn't refunded....
  14. CSULA students should hear something on Tuesday/Wednesday! I’m waiting for my friend’s results. I really hope she gets in! ?
  15. Usually your school’s portal will have like a connection with some kind of transcript service. I know that for PCC, they send electronic/physical copy of transcripts but for CSULA they only gave me the option for a physical one being sent out. Usually it’ll also have the address of where you wanna send it to on the system so you don’t have to manually type it out. Electronic will be faster for sure compared to physical copy
  16. CONGRATS TO ALL WHO GOT IN. I believe based on the old point system, I got 27 points. Can’t wait to see you all in the Fall!
  17. I’m talking to one of my friends who’s a student at CSULA and she said she hasn’t received anything yet. She said Ms. Yvette told her emails come out April 1st
  18. Mine says the same as yours! I’ve already requested for my transcripts ? I’m so excited.
  19. I got accepted into CSULA!! Waiting to see results for nursing program in April! Good luck to everyone!!
  20. Hi guys! I actually called CSULA earlier this week and the lady said that’s it wasn’t unusual for apps to be incomplete still. Said we won’t hear anything till around March. Not sure what’s happening with CSULA next year but I’ve been seeing stuff on the PCC group page from some alumni that transfer to CSULA will be harder—very soon. As the campus is impacted. So I’m a bit worried. But apps being on incomplete status is normal! Won’t hear anything back till March!
  21. Hey guys! So I saw today on the PCC FB page that someone application status got changed to “admitted” (that little green check). I know their major is probably not nursing, but did any of you guys get an update on your application for CSULA?
  22. Btw is anyone else transferring into CSULA? The deadline for updating the application was a few days ago and I’d like to know if anyone received any emails for further action? Until I’m fully accepted I’m probably going to keep thinking I somehow messed up my application ?
  23. Hi everyone! I haven’t been checking in on this forum but I’m transferring to CSULA from PCC so I was actually able to get my transcripts sent around mid-December. Totally helped that PCC also does electronic transcripts so it was sent within 1-3 days. Though, can’t say that was 100% great. NursingCAS actually verified my transcripts (one from a community college in Hawaii and PCC) within that weekend. WAAAAY faster than I had expected them to. So while I had no problems with the verification process taking a long time, I accidentally uploaded the wrong TEAS test forum/document that the program wanted. So just future reference for any future applicants reading this forum—MAKE SURE TO CLICK THE TEST TYPE IN THE RESULTS TAB. It should pop up a PDF with colored bars with about 5-6 pages or something. It’ll have the same data as the results tab, but also just graphs and some data on the types of questions asked on your exam I called NursingCAS the closest Monday after I had finalized my application & they had verified my application. They told me they couldn’t fix/reupload/change any documents because my application had been verified. So, note that if you make a mistake in your application call NursingCAS ASAP (they work weekends too). It seems that they can fix your application as long as it has not been verified. Luckily, I phoned Ms. Yvette & told her what had happened...While mentioning how quick NursingCAS verified my app...& she allowed me to upload the correct document in an empty “other” section of the application. Note: this was weeks before applications were due & the office probably wasn’t getting chaotic at the time with apps. So truly...Ms. Yvette is a godsend. She’s amazing ???
  24. Hi everyone! It seems that they have taken down the point system page! I know from earlier this year that Ms. Florita said they were revamping it sooo...Idk what the update is on that. I just submitted my application. I'm a bit worried that it's too late to send it in to get verified and everything? I recently got employed as a dental assistant so I waited till after I was off probation to ask them for a letter of employment verification for extra points for CSULA's program. Hopefully it doesn't take too long for my transcripts to be verified. I have everything else done though! Good luck to everyone out there! I also noticed that CSULA's upped their potential applicant pool from like 300-500 students a year to 800-900! Crazy!
  25. I think the max is 3 points and that's if you do over 100 hours of volunteer and work in the medical field already!
