  1. Nobody has any info on this school? A groupme or something? I have looked and found absolutely nothing on this school.
  2. Does anyone know if the school is an ATI or HESI instructed school? How is the weekly class structure for a 1st semester student? In 2024 what are the ADN uniforms like? I know all these will be answered in a "bootcamp" upon acceptance. I just want to know now.
  3. I want to know what the lowest score on the rubric has traditionally been accepted?
  4. If anyone is confirmed to be in this cohort, please let us know so we can get together before the orientation.
  5. I am shocked (but not really) that there has been almost no activity on the application to Tomball LVN. I can say I've not seen more than 10 people even mention it online anywhere. I guess everyone is too engulfed in ADN applications and using LVN as backup. And the max class size is small to begin with (less than 30 I hear). C'mon where is everyone that got in (or at least applied)? We have an external group me (that I can link here).
  6. I really think this school is under the radar. I can't find any information. I am applying. My GPA is 3.61 and my HESI is 92.40% with a CT score of 1000. I am a CNA as well. Does anyone else know what else is on their scoring rubric? All prerequisites are done. What else am I missing and more importantly, am I a good candidate?
  7. My points are low due to old transcripts that killed my GPA. Unfortunaltely, repeats and grades will likely keep me out, in spite of a decent HESI score and all. Best I can get is 14pts. Oh well
  8. Next Thursday is the application deadline. Who has applied so far? My application score is 7.696. I have only seen threads that were years old so I was trying to find anyone that was applying. I think they have 25 slots.
  9. I'm just finished taking the HESI today. Maybe I can get everything together and submit an application by Monday.
  10. I'm applying to Spring 2024 entry and have not found any threads on it here. Does anyone have the scoring rubric and what the lowest accepted score was in prior years? Also for Spring entry, does anybody know if the program is a Spring-Summer-Fall-Spring schedule? Lastly, how is the weekly schedule at the campuses (and is there any differences between Central and North)?
  11. I guess we all got our letters for better or worse. I wish you all success and if you have questions, I'm sure someone can answer them. 12. My program runs from January 2021 through May 2022. So yes it's still takes time but just a year and a half for my ADN. I can't complain about that. I even want to work part-time as a CNA (one or two 12-hr shifts weekly) to help out. I really think she has gotten completely spoiled working at home. It's OK for me to do the cooking, cleaning and supervision. What responsibilities does she have? She did the same thing when I was a manager working 60 hours weekly. I cooked 3 nights a week. When it was her turn they boys ate takeout. That's not adequate. Grant it I was a chef and all but she's no slouch in that kitchen. I was oping to graduate nursing school because of her, not in spite of her.
  13. I barely remember my 20's and 30's, LOL. I'm in my mid forties. I'm taking Micro and Pharm online while homeschooling our 2nd graders at home. Meanwhile she's holed up in a room with the door closed all day while they're in class. If you don't want to be supportive while I'm in school, that's fine. But don't be a damn hinderance. I was always told if something isn't part of a solution it's part of the problem.
  14. I understand. I'm just really tired of being told I have to figure everything out. Therapists and the like all say it's incumbent upon me to find the solution. My wife is going to make nursing school harder and that cannot happen. If after trying to get in for so long and explaining that the program is hard... If she doesn't get it I feel it's because she doesn't want to get it.
  15. I guess I'm angry. I've asked in therapy what to do and it always comes back to what I can do to make everyone else more comfortable. Not a single person ever says what they can do to help and support me. It's tiring, infuriating and exhaustive. I don't have anymore left to dole out for someone else to take. I am extremely tired. I thank you so much for your advice. I truly appreciate it. I have been mentally and emotionally taxed. I have a reserve earmarked for school. I cannot give that up. Bless you. I can imagine the strain.
  16. Thank you. I haven't pull the virtual hair out at all. I did, however get into nursing school for Spring today. I also have a scholarship to pay for the program. So financing the program is taken care of. I think somehow I want to work to at least make my vehicle payments, cable bill and electricity. I have taken all non-nursing classes before school starts (well I'm in Micro and Pharm now). I'm just looking forward to starting school and further developing my time management skills.
  17. I got accepted to Cy-Fair with a 7.744
  18. I'm hopefully starting my actual nursing program in January. For the last year I've been somewhat a SAHD. I was the domestic engineer. When this past Summer I began my prerequisites for nursing school, my wife maintained her regular functions. So while I was still cleaning and homeschooling the twins (1st grade) she worked from home and during the day cut everyone and everything off. It got worse in that she stopped grooming, doesn't help with the boys or just laundry. In addition to taking both sections of A&P this Summer and currently in Microbiology for Fall, I still have to do the other duties. I've tried to continually explain how hard nursing school can be and the last few classes are just the beginning. I do not think she really supports me in school. I told her.that with my application score I was almost assured to get in. She let out a faint "yay". Right now she makes about $65k annually. My unemployment has run out and the only funds I have are scholarships to pay for school. Even with prerequisites I'm up after I put the kids to bed until 2am doing my homework. Then back up around 8am to start all over. I still do the grocery shopping, household duties and there is ZERO intimacy. I am NOT withdrawing from school. That is not an option. I don't know what I can do to get her to understand that I'm always tired, have little time to do anything else and that it will get worse for a while. I think she resents being the sole earner in the home. I feel I may have to at least work enough to pay my car payment and two bills. I am thinking 2 shifts as a CNA someplace. Add that log to the fire and something has to give. Does anyone have advice from being in a similar situation? I'm at my wits end and don't have hair to pull out.
