  1. Hospitals near the miami airport have mostly Spanish speaking patients. Not just that, but the culture is very Cuban. Many people will be Spanish only or Spanish mostly and communication will be difficult for even grocery shopping. It was a big culture shock for me, and if you know yourself not to be receptive to that, it could be very unfun living and working here. But Going more north will produce a more English-speaking population. More north then Doral and north Miami. Somewhere around Aventura the demographic will change from Cuban to Russian and Haitian. But either way, there are going to be a lot of people who do not speak English. It can get uncomfortable at first, but it was pretty easy for me to learn to communicate with most of my Spanish and Haitian patients in miami. It's not impossible but just know it's completely different than Indiana.
