  1. Thanks for the reply. From what I can see from online job ads even many casual positions ask for 1-2 years of relevant experience or certain post-basic certifications. How would I get hired in the first place as a casual without these?
  2. Thanks. Do casuals get roughly as many hours as FT employees? It doesn't sound like it. Are there ways to transition directly into full-time work?
  3. Hi, Roughly how much can I expect to make first year as an RN in BC working full-time and picking up OT? I would love to hear from recent graduates. Just looking to do some financial planning. Thanks.
  4. Hi, How many hours per week does the average Canadian nurse work? How easy is it to get more/fewer shifts per week? BC info would be appreciated. Thanks for any information.
  5. Thanks for the greater detail. One more thing: how important, if at all, is BSN school prestige? Are my career prospects affected by going to a smaller or less prestigious school?
  6. Thanks for the reply. Then, will promotion between the levels be based on things like experience, drive and leadership abilities?
  7. I'm considering becoming a nurse in British Columbia, Canada. In the U.S. there are 4 levels of RNs, levels 3-6. Each has a different salary, what are these considering there already are salary differences based on experience (first to ninth year)? Thanks for any clarification.
