  1. Thank you. I will do that.
  2. We all have attributes. Give it some thought. Think about some of your natural talents, such as maybe you're compassionate, you may have the ability to communicate therapeutically. We all have something to give. Even you. Good luck.
  3. This is most unfortunate for the patient. Look at the departments policy/procedure. It should guide and direct you through the process of practice. Upon hire, was there a competency where you were signed off after performing skill by someone more experienced? CDPH will look at that when investigating and observe the nursing practice to asses if staff are following the policy in place. The policy is in place to protect the patient and staff. The hospital will be responsible financially for cost of surgical repair and rehab for patient. Patient may sue for punitive damages as well. This will be a very costly outcome. The liability is the issue. Maybe seek legal advice who specializes in this type of liability. Good luck.
  4. Use this as an opportunity to communicate how you practice your craft, such as "I practice with accountability, integrity, respect, innovation, great listening skills, etc...". It's an opportunity to sell yourself. Discuss your strengths and weaknesses and mention plan to correct weaknesses. Create a short list and memorize it for yourself.
  5. I have been in the profession for over 25 years. Last 11 in leadership, including professional staff development and CNO. The organization I was last with had a huge lay off where middle management was let go. I've decided to seek an opportunity with the state as a surveyor. My children are adults and have their own careers. I believe this is the perfect opportunity to try something new in healthcare. I have interviewed in a few counties for a surveyor position, however, I have not been selected. Someone please advise what exactly are they looking for in the interview process for the state. I am humble, convey my strengths/weaknesses, and knowledgeable of TJC, CMS, and Title 22. My goal is to obtain an opportunity and retire in the next 10-12 years. No longer interested in climbing corporate ladders. Please assist.
  6. Would you please provide information as to what the interviewers are looking for during that process? I am knowledgeable of TJC, CMS, and Title 22. This is where I want to retire from. It's an opportunity to learn new skills and give back. How may I convey this is a win-win for them and myself. I have not been extended an offer as of yet. I have been an asset to the profession, again, I reiterate, I'm humble, work well with others, work hard, take nothing for granted, and give back. Any advice how to present myself in a more favorable light? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. No; I personally would not administer it.
  8. I have had 4 interviews with state for surveyor position. San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, and San Diego county's. I reside 60 miles from San Diego, and maybe 40 miles from Orange. I am within 20 to 25 miles from San Bernardino/Riverside. I have over 20 years within the profession. Last 10 years in leadership. I'm humble, love learning, work well with others, and work hard. It has been a challenge for me. Does anyone have any advice that would assist me with this challenge, I would greatly appreciate it? Thanks
