  1. Yes, got an offer via phone from them Friday evening. Nothing from KS though. Thanks for making this group!
  2. @Amblanc90, @WebbC1, @ajy011 I just wanted to let you know that your words are exactly what I needed to hear right about now, so THANK YOU! @MamaMagic And thank you for asking your questions! I am a mom as well (my son is 20 months old) and starting the ABSN Summer 2019 cohort in a few months. Definitely have some nervousness going into it, but it sounds like it's gonna be just fine.
  3. I was 29 out of 70 last time when I was waitlisted, so I reapplied. Things I did to improve my application include rewriting my personal statement, became CPR certified, used my immediate supervisor as a LOR writer (who is the director of the health clinic I work at), and had anatomy in progress. Derric told me that my biggest blemish on my application was the C I got in anatomy, so retaking that would be in my best interest. Its still in progress because it won't end til May but maybe they saw it'll be at least fresh before starting at SM. My HESI was 91 so he said not to retake it. Hopefully that helps!
  4. I would recommend reapplying. I was on the waitlist the first time around and didn't ever get a spot. This last time I applied and fortunately got in. The initial deadline was March 8th for those who got accepted, but I believe it varies based on if people are pulled off the waitlist.
  5. Congratulations, all! I just got in for Fall 2019 but also got into another program. I'll be giving up my spot so there will be an open spot in Fall 2019.
  6. @futRNRock - I'm thinking we just keep the newer combined one since we've already got 14 members? Thoughts? Figured as we get started, we'll probably have a lot of the same questions and can post them there (vs here). If we decide later that it would be best to separate, I'm totally ok with whatever the group decides.
  7. @nurse_steph94 and I have combined the San Mateo cohorts (April and June) to have one facebook page so we can all help each other out! Please search "Samuel Merritt ABSN - San Mateo Summer 2019 Cohorts" or use this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/585883038505511/?source=unknown
  8. I created a FB group for San Mateo- June cohort! You can search "Samuel Merritt ABSN - June 2019 Cohort" or use this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/585883038505511/
  9. Yes! I see you got in for the April start. I can make one for June start folks.
  10. I just got accepted for June start for San Mateo!
  11. I applied for June start San Mateo, then Oakland 2nd choice, and San Mateo April 3rd. I'll take any seat I can get though!
  12. I don't know what the numbers look like for 2019, but in the past it has been 80 spaces total per application cycle -- see slide 8http://www.evc.edu/AcademicAffairs/Documents/Nursing Information Workshop- Updated 2.21.18.pdf I believe it would be the same, as they just changed the process from lottery to point system. So F'19 - 40 spots and Sp'20 - 40 spots probably?
  13. I am doing the SAME thing! It's hard not to check constantly, even though it seems like late next week would probably be the soonest we would hear back. You really never know (and that's why I check!)
  14. Same! Constantly refreshing my inbox waiting....waiting...
  15. I'm really hoping that decisions are sent out this week. In years past, when the deadline was Dec 31st, they would send them out around Dec 20th. Hoping they keep up with sending out decisions about 10 days prior to the "you'll hear back from us" date.
  16. When is your interview? Just curious as to how far out it is, because typically the notifications for the programs come out at similar times after the ELMSN interviews.
  17. Wanted to point out thought that I don't have any in progress classes, and last time when I applied I got the preliminary review email later than everyone else (by a couple weeks). And for reference, last time I got the "preliminary review" email 2 months before the decisions were sent out, so we could be in for quite the wait.
  18. Just got my preliminary review email! Check your inbox and spam!
  19. Do you think they aren't sending out preliminary review emails? My hope is that they are going straight to sending out final acceptance/waitlist/deny letters since it's been so long since we applied.
  20. Last 60 units GPA: 3.95 Science GPA: 3.0 HESI: 91.6% I'm getting antsy for answers! We are almost there!
  21. @Juls28 - Ok, good to hear because yes, last cohort they send our the preliminary emails about a month after the app was due. I really hope this doesn't mean they are behind their typical timeline. Looking back at old summer threads, they seemed to move a bit faster with the summer notifications. @Wanida - My guess would be that we would hear back early to mid February after looking back at old timelines. Seems like they notify the April start San Mateo first. Then Oakland, then June San Mateo. I took my pharm and patho online through Butler CC in Kansas over last summer. Really great instructors, but a lot of work/assignments.
  22. Has anyone received any communication from Samuel Merritt since they applied? The only thing I received was a "we've received your application" email shortly after I applied in November. I remember the last time I applied for the Spring cohort, we got an email about a month after we applied that said they completed a preliminary review. Anyone receive something like this? Maybe I didn't get something like this since this is my second time applying?
  23. Thanks for starting this thread, NurseStu2018! This will be my second time applying (recently applied Spring 2019 and was waitlisted). Hoping the tweaks to my application will help me get in this time.
  24. Good luck wanida and bebimbop! I applied again for Summer to San Mateo and Oakland. Crossing my fingers that we all get in this time!
  25. @hobokitty Hoping you get in! Just curious, because I remember you said you improved your application since last year - What did you do to improve your application?
