  1. Thank you! I know a lot of my questions seem like questions I should ask the school I'm planning to attend. I did speak to the chair of the nursing program, but when she asked how many children I had and I answered her, her whole demeanor changed. I do know that it will be difficult, but this is what's best for me and my family! I need to change the course of our future and this is the best way I know how. Not to mention this is something I have always wanted. Especially since my second baby, first daughter, was born with a congenital heart defect. Just changed my whole perspective on nurses. :)
  2. Hi, guys and gals! I'm hoping to find some help. This is my first time writing on here as, I have been lurking admittedly since I decided that I'm definitely going to nursing school! I'm taking pre-reqs now and I have tons of questions and I'm wondering if you all can help. First question: I have 4 kids. All under 6 and I'm wondering how you guys that also have young ones handle the child care when they get sick and can't do childcare/school? My husband works full time and does get vacation time, but has to know ahead of time that he's taking it. Question 2: What should I expect out of ADN school after I get done with my pre reqs? Question 3: How long before the application deadline should I take the TEAS? Question 4: Did you take any pre reqs while in your nursing program? sorry I know this a lot of questions, but I'm just so excited to finally be following MY dream as I've spent the last 4 years as a stay at home mom. If anyone would like to add any extra advice it would be GREATLY appreciated! TIA!!
