I did a lot of complaining yesterday but I have to say--I can now do the few things I want. I managed to set things so I see only the Nursing threads instead of both Nursing and Students. My other main irritation was that when I clicked on the What's New tab it was showing every reply to a thread instead of just a listing of each thread and today it is no longer doing that. So, now I'm thinking I'll progress to figuring out the black dot next to each thread under What's New. I know there have been numerous comments about it but it will take me forever to go back and find them all so I wanted to ask what the purpose of it is. As far as I can tell clicking on the black dot just brings up the original thread and all of the replies just like clicking on the title of the thread brings up the original and all of the replies. Am I wrong? Is there a difference between clicking on the black dot VS clicking on the title of the thread? If so, I'm not seeing it. Also, even before the site was updated I never knew how to see more of the latest posts (What's New) than what was listed (meaning if I skipped a day I couldn't go back farther and see the previous day's new posts). Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance for any explanations. Yesterday I was sure I was going to have to give up on AN but now I can stick around. I had no idea until reading everyone's recent questions that the site could be used so many ways. I still have no interest in Likes, following people, avatars, etc. but there are a few things I've read about that I may want to start using some day.
