  1. I did a lot of complaining yesterday but I have to say--I can now do the few things I want. I managed to set things so I see only the Nursing threads instead of both Nursing and Students. My other main irritation was that when I clicked on the What's New tab it was showing every reply to a thread instead of just a listing of each thread and today it is no longer doing that. So, now I'm thinking I'll progress to figuring out the black dot next to each thread under What's New. I know there have been numerous comments about it but it will take me forever to go back and find them all so I wanted to ask what the purpose of it is. As far as I can tell clicking on the black dot just brings up the original thread and all of the replies just like clicking on the title of the thread brings up the original and all of the replies. Am I wrong? Is there a difference between clicking on the black dot VS clicking on the title of the thread? If so, I'm not seeing it. Also, even before the site was updated I never knew how to see more of the latest posts (What's New) than what was listed (meaning if I skipped a day I couldn't go back farther and see the previous day's new posts). Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance for any explanations. Yesterday I was sure I was going to have to give up on AN but now I can stick around. I had no idea until reading everyone's recent questions that the site could be used so many ways. I still have no interest in Likes, following people, avatars, etc. but there are a few things I've read about that I may want to start using some day.
  2. TNButterfly--I went thru the videos. 90% of them are things I have no interest in but I watched the few that I thought pertained to what I want (which is to keep things very simple). I had previously created 2 streams and gave them names. But I don't see where there is a video saying how you find these streams, edit them, etc. Is there not a video for that? Are there other instructions somewhere else that I am not aware of? All I ever really wanted to do was just see a list of the newest postings without all the student and school postings so I could click on and read the ones I was interested in.
  3. Thank you TN Butterfly. I have a lot of videos to go thru! Hopefully they will have my answer. I did all the checkboxes to create yet another stream. I only selected about 5 items but for some reason it keeps bringing up the postings about nursing schools. If I'm still not able to figure it out is there somewhere in particular I should be posting a Help me question?
  4. I have a suggestion--how about putting these how to videos under the video tab or make a help tab and put them there so we don't have to keep trying to find this thread to watch the videos again.
