LCSC Admission Spring 2021
Hi! I actually graduated last month! But I hated the HESI so much. I almost failed NCLEX prep because they implemented the 850 or higher to pass for our class. I ended up taking the HESI 3 times and barely passed on the third. However, my class fought really hard against HESI determine if you pass or not. I just took the NCLEX and passed in 76 questions. HESI is not a good indicator for passing the NCLEX! I hope your S1 goes well! It is a ton of busy work but so much better than J1 or J2. Biggest tip I have for you for when you do take the NCLEX is use NCLEX crusade international on YouTube! They have 2 different 7 day course and actually teach you how to understand NCLEX questions and how to answer them! Good luck!

Are you an LPN? I am not sure about that part of the curriculum as we don’t have any LPNs in my cohort. But in general the BSN program is changing completely in the Fall and they are moving classes to different semesters and you take patho in the program. I wish you luck!

LCSC Admission Spring 2021
My cohort has a ton of kids from all over! There are people from Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Idaho. Now that covid cases have lowered and things are opening back up you are required to be on campus. There are only a few hospitals you can do clinicals at your first few semesters as you do them in groups. The program is supposed to be changing in Fall 2023 unless they postpone. As well as they are trying to admit 60 kids every semester which is almost impossible for them to maintain as they don’t have the staff. The program lacks communication and consistency throughout. Many of the instructors have no idea what they are doing and you are teaching yourself basically everything. Honestly, other than meeting new people and finding people that are experiencing the same struggle as you that is the only good thing. I do enjoy hearing the instructors crazy experiences they have had and it’s interesting to learning how much they had struggled as a new grad too. Personally, I almost dropped every semester because of how much I hated the program. But on a positive note almost everyone that applies gets into the program. Although just note if you haven’t gotten your covid vaccine you will need it to get into the program.

You're welcome and thank you! I hope that the studying helps you! It sucks you can't get accommodations. I wish you the best of luck on scenario!

Thank you! Just know that I am proud of you too! I remember when you first commented and were waitlisted! You have made it this far and I believe in your ability ? From my understanding, the instructors meet after scenario and talk about everyone and how they thought the students did. That’s how you get a PIP or have to do a redo because they decide as a whole for the most part. I have heard that some people will just get a PIP for running out of time and others who really mess up the safety portion will need to retake a scenario. However, in the past there was a rumor going around when I was a J2 that in a previous semester they had passed someone who failed all the scenarios and retakes in the J2 semester but was succeeding everywhere else. In my class, we had a couple people have to retake a scenario and still pass! Definitely seek out testing accommodations and maybe even anxiety medication as it can help a great deal with testing anxiety. My biggest suggestion is to go in there with all confidence! I know it’s hard to do but as you progress into your career you will have to fake it until you make it! Good luck! ?

Unfortunately, there is no online resources. Although, if you use the scenario binder in the skills lab it is really helpful. As a S2 I am also super stressed but no where near what it was like during scenario. They definitely test your ability to handle stress during the first few semesters. I am sorry you are having to go thru this! If worse comes to worse you should be able to appeal and retake the semester. However, I am unsure as to why you would fail as in previous semesters people have failed both scenarios and still passed due to them doing good elsewhere in the program. I suggest writing everything down when you are in the report room to help you gather your thoughts when in scenario! I personally failed a scenario is J1 and had to retake it. I also did rather poorly on J2 scenarios and the second one I completely messed up the EKG reading. Do you have a testing accommodation? If not you may look into that and see if you could get one! If you have time also reach out to the instructors to help you too! I know during my J2 they had multiple study sessions for scenario. I hope this helps and that you will be able to pass!

You got this! Study your heart out and walk in with confidence! Tbh we all felt that way during J2. I personally struggled with scenario due to the ekgs and the cardiac meds. What part are most concerned about with scenario testing? Is it the stress or something else that puts you at risk for failing?

You're welcome! I live in the valley and many students do travel! I wish you the best of luck! I hope you will update if you get into the program. Don't give up if this is your dream. It will be worth it in the end!

LCSC Admission Spring 2021
Thank you! And they are definitely preparing for people to either decline acceptance or dropout altogether. I was waitlisted last October but in the middle of November they told me I was admitted. The class that started this fall is down to 39 students and started at 49. The school is trying to prepare for the need for more nurses and people not being able to complete the program. If you do not get in it will be sad but you could always apply elsewhere too. However, I don’t want to talk poorly about the school but it is definitely not what you would expect.

Yes, I did get in. Currently sitting in class. They are admitting 55 this coming semester and most people that are waitlisted will probably get in because of the amount of requirements and the vaccine requirement. They are expecting a bunch of people to decline so make sure you are all good on your requirements if you want to come here. Tbh this program is extremely difficult and will test your mental and emotional state. I had almost failed out of the first semester and almost decided not to continue with this program.

Thank you! Good luck to you too! For most programs patho is needed for entry. But LCSC requires you to take pharmacology first semester of nursing school. It’s honestly amazing how many meds there are!

Yes! I am going to LCSC and expected to graduate December 2022. However, pharm might be the death of me? I agree it is a true test.

Not me! But I highly suggest getting mentally prepared if you are starting in the fall. At least for my program. It feels like we are being setup for failure and everything is based on tests. But make sure to ask for help if you need it from your peers!
