Hey everyone, I just came to the allnurses community today. Nice to meet you all!! Today, I have a problem with understanding the Introduction Part of the Registered nurse standards for practice (link: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Registered nurse standards for practice) accredited by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (as I can't the understand what some of English terms refer to. I want to let you know that I'm an international student from a non-English-speaking country). I would be grateful if someone could help me. Thanks in advance. In the introduction of the Registered nurse standards for practice: In this quote, does "groups" refer to "races", such as the Caucasian race, the Ethiopian, or Mongoloid,...? Does "communities" refer to an area with a certain population, such as "a school, a church, a temple, a city, a village, or even a country?" In this quote, if I paraphrase. Does it mean: "These people may be healthy. Or they may be physically ill, mentally ill, or facing/having disabilities"? I assume that "health challenges" in this case are disabilities. Am I correct? Thank you !
