  1. This is great to hear. I'm thinking of doing the 6 month plan with the goal of practicing 2-3 hours per week. Any tips based on how you used it? Thank you ?
  2. I'm preparing to take the NCLEX in August, and due to the timing of my accelerated RN to NP program need to be sure that I'll pass on the first attempt. Another student that's a year ahead of me recommended getting the 6 month membership and starting UWORLD in Feb for the Aug exam date. Vanderbilt provides us with Hurst prep during the summer, and we've already had to purchase Elsevier Adaptive Quizzing and ATI, and we will be required to do the HESI tests during the summer. Would those of you that used UWORLD recommend investing in it, in addition to all of the above? *This coming from someone that is TERRIFIED of NCLEX style nursing questions. I've been doing marginally well on exams in school... so feeling a lot of pressure!
  3. I've not been in touch with other incoming students on this topic... I'd only heard great things about the faculty from acquaintances that I know in the pre-specialty program. I think that this should be brought to VUSN's attention. I guess I fell for feeling like maybe I was being too needy. What specialty are you?
  4. Are you an incoming pre-specialty student? I am, and have also had a mixed experience in terms of support. Although not without being made to feel that I'm high maintenance, I've been demanding and have gotten what I need. This is my third degree in higher ed and l'd venture to say that understaffed and overextended is probably how most programs operate. If they don't answer by email, call them! I have made a lot of phone calls and have gotten much sorted out that way. I'd also suggest trying Dr. Jessee. She has been especially attentive and prompt.
  5. Hi @tarrab! Thank you so much for offering your feedback. I've been accepted to PMHNP and to VIPL. Do you have any comments to share on how your cohort did in terms of finding positions in California or in NYC? I'd also be curious to hear if you have any knowledge on if participation in VIPL made those alumni more competitive. Thanks again for taking the time!

  7. Hi, is this a group that you created for accepted students that have been chatting on this thread?
  8. Yes, it had this headline: Vanderbilt University Decision Update
  9. I took the opportunity to call because I had a similar situation w/ an updated transcript, and decided to segue into the Q about when decisions may be going out. The woman I spoke with in admissions was very apologetic + embarrassed that they have NOT YET gone out - so for those of you that read the thread and are expecting decisions today/ this weekend, do not be disappointed if you don't get news. In fact she told me that "hopefully they will go out by the end of next week (Feb22nd)" and she was very careful to emphasize HOPEFULLY.
  10. I'm preparing for the interview for this upcoming Monday and trying to see if I can get any info about the program that is outside of what they outline on the website. Something that would make my motivation for applying to VUSN more compelling than just saying it's a great program...
