Thank you for your replies! I have a friend who is close to starting nursing school with a younger sister who got a job right out of college last year. In my building at work is montiefore medical center back offices. I know the bosses there, they tell me new grads with bachelors find jobs right away even in the downstate metro area. I dont understand why there is so much bad vibes online about not finding a job, are they bad applicants or people without BSNs? I dont know everyone's individual situations. Eeveryone i talk to in real life tells me not to worry and with a bachelors you can find a job in the bronx, LI, or NYC area right out of school. I am thinking about finishing up my prereqs at nassau and trying to get into lehman for my one year BSN. Any more opinions would really help me out! Thank you all again for your time!!!

Hello everyone, I live 20 minutes east of NYC. I am thinking of starting my pre-reqs and going into nursing. I used to be a science teacher for eight years and I quit that to work in corporate america. Everyone in person tells me a nursing job will be easy to get, however when i go to internet forums every one I read says new grads will not get a job in two years time when i am done being a new grad. Is this true? Will i have to move to upstate new york to get a job in order to gain experience to come back downstate in two years? I want to make a transition to nursing but I am not sure with all the negativity i read on the internet about finding a job is making me question this decision.
