  1. Hey, let us know if you were able to find Facebook Group.
  2. Please let us know if you were able to find it.
  3. Type the following into the search bar on Facebook: GSU Perimeter College Spring 2019 Nursing
  4. Congratulations! To communicate further as the Spring semester approaches there's a FB page. "GSU Perimeter College Spring 2019 Nursing". Please join.
  5. I agree wholeheartedly. I am 40+. Never had any formal education beyond high school. I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack. I procrastinate. However, I study hard and fight for every single grade. Every discussion. Every quiz. Every assignment. I email my professors non-stop about anything I do not understand--even if it seems the world's dumbest question. Perseverance has brought me through. Don't give up!
  6. I made 83.3% on TEAS. Overall GPA 4.0. Science GPA 4.0
  7. Congratulations to Everyone! I received my acceptance letter today. It says to send a passport photo by the 21st. Where do I do to get a passport photo really quick? My daughter needed one a few months ago. It took at least a week or more before they sent it in the mail.
  8. You are too kind. What is your alternate plan? Are you going to try for the bachelor's later or retry the Associate program next semester or maybe another school? Either way, Best Wishes!
  9. This is the first I've heard of that happening, but more than likely, it has happened before. Please give us an update after you call.
  10. Hi there. I'm sorry to hear that. You stats look good. Did they give a reason for denial? I'm on pins and needles....have not received any news as of yet.
  11. Hi there. From reading the previous semesters's hubub (check the forum for Spring 2018, last 2 pages or so), letters can go out well into October.
  12. Wow! That's impressive. I really cannot imagine doing those classes as mini-mesters. Great Job! I'm a non-traditional student and I feel like I'm at a disadvantage because of my age (40+). I really hope I can keep up with the work load (if I get accepted). I've become a little addicted to this forum and reading some of the posts regarding how incredibly hard nursing school is---has me a bit nervous.
  13. Yes! We definitely need to stick together. I tried to private message you for that professor's name :-) (I'm pretty sure we can't name names on here) but private message function is not available to me. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I had a great professor for both A&P I and II. There was a massive amount of work to stay on top of and sometimes I felt like I was drowning trying to keep up but he always answered any and every question and was available for tutoring or any topic we were struggling with. He also gave extra credit opportunities and extensions for the weekly exams and Mastering homework. I made 97% in both of his classes. We had to work hard for out grades, but he truly taught us how to "think", not just memorize. I can't imagine what it would have been like with a bad professor, but I guess in preparing ourselves for the future, that is always a possibility. I have a different professor for Micro lecture, so we'll see how I fare. I'm on Facebook profile name "Ayesha Beasley".
  14. Hi! Thanks so much for the info. I completely forgot everything at the information session. My GPA is fine so far, but I'm a bit worried about my TEAS score (specifically, the Math). I did not study much for it but went ahead because I had paid &scheduled so far in advance. I planned to retake it. However, the head of nursing said I do not need to retake, so I'm leaning heavily upon her good judgement. From the stats on this thread, I just may be OK. Although, I'm not sure about that "60 out of 300" acceptance rate, especially if others (not on thread) have really high TEAS scores. Also, I'm doing Micro this semester, PHED, and RSCH, so there's always the possibility that my GPA may fall some. I'm so nervous! I really want to get in. I really need to get in! Yet, if I do not, my back up plan is the longer route, to finish prerequisites required for bachelors program and apply to various institutions. Overall GPA: 4.0 Science: GPA 4.0 TEAS: 83.3 -Reading: 91.5 -Math: 78.1 -Reading 91.5 -Science 74.5 -English & Language: 100
  15. Hi Holly. Thank you for the info. That was helpful. I'm very nervous. I made A's in all of my classes so far inclucing A&P I & II. However, I have Microbiology coming up this semester and I hear its really hard. Have you finished all of your prerequisites?
  16. Hi XKAPX. You send your TEAS score to Georgia State Perimeter College TEAS. Btw, you can email Ms Renee Creel (head of nursing at Perimeter) with any questions, regardless of how insignificant. She is great about responding back if it is during office hours. I sent her a load of emails and she answered every little question I had. Good luck!
  17. Thanks for that tip Queen Tiye.
  18. Thank you. I live in the metro Atlanta, Georgia area. I am applying to Georgia State University (Perimeter College) which is the 4th top ADN program in the State according to Nurse Journal 2018. I am not particular about what facility starting out.
  19. Hi guys. I just applied to a nursing program and am wondering (if accepted) how hard will it be for me to find employment upon graduation with no experience? Has anyone recently graduated from an associate degree nursing program and found immediate employment with no previous experience in the field? Thank you for your time.
  20. Oh...and I only applied to Perimeter. I believe all the others required courses I have not yet taken.
  21. Hi there. I just applied to the Spring 2019 program last week. I've taken all of the pre-requisites minus 6 credits. I'm taking Micro in the Fall along with 2 one-credit electives. I totally expected to fail the TEAS and re-take at the end of this month. I did not get much study time. However, I did better than I anticipated. General GPA 4.0 Science GPA 4.0 TEAS: 83.3%
