CONGRATS ? I just sent you a private message with the link

UTMB Galveston Spring 2021
We have until September 1 to accept our offers. So, you may or may not hear anything from them anytime after that. People have been bumped up and off the waitlist 2 weeks before the start of the program. It really depends on how many people decline their seats

UTMB Galveston Spring 2021
I think they're doing it in waves. A very few of us in the group chat were accepted and others are having the same issues with the status still saying complete or active. I'm pretty sure everyone will hear back by the end of the week. keep hope alive

UTMB Galveston Spring 2021
I got accepted ??? Overall GPA: 3.39 UTMB GPA: 3.5 ish TEAS: Taken twice, averaged out to 84 No healthcare experience BLS certified Associates in General studies + all utmb prereqs are finished <30 volunteer hours with the USO GM link: https://bit.ly/3g9pBSf CONGRATS in advance to everyone who was accepted and waitlisted For those who were denied, don't give up. Don't let one rejection decide your path or your future. I was in the same position a few months ago at what I thought would be my dream school. A rejection is just a redirection ❣️ Good luck to everyone!

I also got mine 2 or 3 days later. When did you apply? Was your admissions app received? Hopefully they'll accept a late supplemental app as long as your admissions app is on file.

No. I live outside of Killeen, so about 2.5 hours out

UT Health San Antonio Spring 2021
I'm more than positive there are more people that applied than usual. More people don't want to enter the field anymore due to the pandemic, so schools have been lowering their standards and extending deadlines. UTMB extended their app deadline 2 or 3 times and now there's over 1,500 applicants (700 more than usual). I'm pretty sure the applicant pool at UTH-SA is in the 500-700 range ? Hopefully, we do hear back around September and October, there might be a delay due to the pandemic. Thank you for letting me know about the interviews! I thought it would be set up to where you would have to answer questions on the spot. Takes the stress away knowing I can at least practice before recording and sending it off

UT Health San Antonio Spring 2021
I was told that we should be hearing back sometime in September for interviews and October for decisions. I'm not sure if there will be a delay this time around since they waived the TEAS. I'm so nervous to hear back, UTHSC is my top choice. Do yall know the types of questions they ask during the interviews? I looked around and I can't find anything

UTMB Galveston Spring 2021
Thanks for the insight! Do you mind if I ask how is it doing online classes? Any advice before starting the program?
-
UTMB Galveston Spring 2021
One of the advisors told me 12-16 weeks, so between 23 September and 22 Oct if things are exactly as they say they are.

I took bio for non-science majors but I took it when I was still majoring in radiation therapy. They’ll take any science course that’s not a prereq. For the personal statement, I just described why I choose nursing, things about me that would make me a great candidate for their program, and some of my accomplishments. If you’re not a good writer, I would look at other people’s statements to see how you can format it and the types of things you can add in there

I applied the April 27 or 28, got the supplemental application on the 30th, turned it in and paid on May 1, and I got access to my MyStar account on May 5. The email came from UTMB Enrollment Services if you want to search for it in your email or be on the lookout for it. I would email them and ask where yours is since we applied around the same time.

UTMB Galveston Spring 2021
Hey I submitted my application over a week ago and submitted my supplemental application on Thursday or Friday. My GPA for UTMB is 3.5 ish. My TEAS are high 70s/low 80s for science and english and 90s for math and reading. I feel really good about my personal statement. The only thing that worries me is that I don’t have any healthcare experience, and I’ve noticed most people that were accepted have experience. I already finished all of the prereqs for UTMB, have my associates, and I’m CPR certified via AHA. Hopefully that’ll give me enough cool points LOL

Unfortunately I did not get accepted (which I already knew LOL). I knew I did something wrong on my application (I figured it out a few days before decisions??♀️). But I’m not too hung up on it, I’m applying to UTA traditional and online, UTHSC in San Antonio, and UTMB after procrastinating for so long. Good luck to those of you who made it in ☺️

Have y’all received anything yet? I’m overthinking about how I probably put the wrong information on my application. If it’s true that we get the acceptances/denials, then we’re exactly 2 weeks away and the wait is eating me alive ?? Hopefully the dates we get decisions won’t get pushed back AGAIN, since they closed campus and our Spring break got extended to the 30th

I haven’t received anything either. Someone else in the thread said that they received emails about finger printing on the 3rd; makes me wonder how many people they’ve sent emails to so far. I wonder how everything is gonna go now since our Spring break has been extended until mid-April. I hope they don’t make us wait any longer by pushing the dates back again. The closer we get to decisions the more anxious I get ?

Really? ? The lady I called only said that they are only sending blue cards to people who meet the minimum requirements and never gave any dates or estimates on when we should expect them, so you are probably right. according to the dates you were given, we’re exactly 1 month away from hopefully receiving our acceptance letters. I get more and more anxious the closer we get ? especially since this is the only program that I applied to

I just called the SON to see when our blue cards will be coming in and admin said that it depends on when the application was received and the Board of Nursing is only sending out the blue cards to people who meet the minimum qualifications. They send them as they look at the applications and they’re still looking at the applications, so ?? My application wasn’t received until a week before the deadline so I probably won’t get mine until the end of the month.

I wish this thread was more active and not just the 2 of us so we can all have more info ?. I haven’t gotten anything. I think they’ll send out the emails this upcoming week. I saw that they sent them out starting on 6 or 7 February last year, so maybe we’ll get them once the weekend is over. I think TXST has one of the lowest app turnouts of all public universities in Texas just because of how “inconvenient” and “complicated” the application process is compared to the online ones on NursingCAS. They have a 30-50% acceptance rate so maybe we’ll have a good chance ??

I'm super late replying lol, but I'll be applying to UTMB this time around since the application closes a few days (maybe weeks) after we get our admissions decisions. I was supposed to apply to UT Health in San Antonio too, but I thought the application closed mid-February and not the 1st?♀️. Your stats are WAY better than mine. Most of my credits are also from a community college. I graduated with my associates in interdisciplinary (general) studies in July and now I'm only doing one semester at TXST since some of the prereqs weren't offered at my school. But I think they accept about 30 or 40% of non-TXST students into their program so you might have a good chance How do you feel about your personal statement? I think I ran mine through Grammarly about 5 or 6 times just to make sure there were no grammar mistakes ?
