Castle branch does the drug test, your packet will give you dates you can take your drug test. It's a panel, they test for everything. People have failed the drug test. And your TB test must have been a two step TB test or they will not accept it.

To add on to this, the book store doesn't always have the nursing books until you start the semester. I know one of my classmates was going to sell hers. Also you will need to buy the ATI books and codes, those were expensive, along with the nursing book bag and supplies. I spent around $1300 on books and I didnt need one of them so that saved me a few hundred. And you'll have to buy scrubs for clinical, two pair, a warm up jacket and two shirts cost me around $200 because they are greys anatomy brand and they are monogrammed.

They will tell you that you can either buy the books separately or in a packet, the packet is cheaper, it sells you first semester and second semester books for around $400ish. You dont do much pharmacology in first semester other than passing drugs at clinical, you will need to know about the drugs your passing and what their actions are, so having a good drug book is a bonus! I bought one from barnes and noble it was $50. You'll need a stethoscope, pen light, and white shoes for clinical.

Yes, dont expect amazing grades in both classes but it is possible. My classmate had to do the same and it was hard but possible. If possible purchase your books early and start the readings for nursing classes early.

Just a reminder, if they are waiting to see how many have to repeat courses, this week is finals week. Good luck to those who haven't received letters yet. Like I said before, I am in the program now, about to finish my first semester, just registered for my second semester classes, of course those classes are pending on if you pass first semester classes which I expect to do. If you have any questions let me know! We were clueless coming into the program and lost so if we can help anyone and ease their worries over the summer until fall I think it would be awesome.

Hey everyone, I'm a current nursing student at Allegheny in the Evening/Weekend program. I was lingering around the site looking for answers pertaining to next semester because the school isnt very well at relaying information. You'll find this out. If you guys have any questions at all let me know! It is nerve wracking going into nursing school and having to make friends, good grades, maintain a job, take care of children and everything else life gives us!
