I work at St. Paul's and did ESN. The interviews have always been the same for me: What experience do you have that will help you in the position? Strenghts and weaknesses. Your long term goals. Why you want to work in that unit. An example of a time where you dealt with a challenging patient or family member. How would you handle an issue with a fellow staff member? Some generic, easy questions related to the patient population you are going to work with (ex. recognizing a surgical complication, what to do if patient ODing, how would you assess x patient, what medications would you give for x). In my experience, if you're getting interviewed, you'll probably get the job unless you say something outlandish. Also, don't be afraid to send follow up emails or even call the unit and ask to speak to the manager/person in charge of hiring if you don't hear back in a reasonable time frame. Hospitals are busy and ESN hiring can get put on the back burner.
