  1. I am Mr. Nephron44, haha
  2. Luckily, I only have the one ring (I'm a guy), and I feel super weird not wearing it or at least having it on me. When I worked in law enforcement, I would wear a Qalo while on duty with my actual ring in my armor vest pocket. During training, I would just wear the Qalo. Unfortunately, scrub pockets are too loose to keep my actual ring in!
  3. Hello everyone! I am going back to the bedside after having an office job for a while. I recently got married and am wondering what I should do with my wedding ring. My ring slips off easily, but if I get it resized any smaller, it will not fit over my knuckle. I don't want it to slip off when frequently taking off gloves, and I have tried silicone rings like Qalo, and I have the same issue. What does everyone else do with their wedding rings? Thanks!
  4. Hello everyone! I am looking for suggestions on a small flashlight for nights in the ICU. I currently sometimes work nights in Tactical EMS, but the flashlights I use are 500 and 750 lumens, which works for outdoor work and clearing buildings, but is way too bright for up close work. I am looking for a small but durable light that will give me enough light to see what I'm doing without being so bright that it wakes the patients. Lifetime warranty is a plus! Also, would anyone recommend a red filter light? During my time as a tactical medic, we used red filters to preserve our night adapted vision and because red light is not as easily seen from the side/far away, which helped to not give away our position...maybe it will translate to the patient not being as bothered by the light? I appreciate any suggestions you have! Thanks!
  5. Hello all! I need help finding a new stethoscope. I started my career as an RN in a PEDS ICU years ago, and then worked in informatics for a while. I recently accepted a position in an adult ICU to get back into patient care, and I will be starting in a few weeks. I also do some prehospital work. In Nursing school I used a Littman Classic II SE, and then upgraded to a Littman Master Cardiology while in PICU. I got the Master Cardiology for half price at the time, so it was a no brainer. After moving to informatics, I sold my Master Cardiology, but I kept my original Classic II SE for sentimental reasons and for EMS work. Now that I am getting back into critical care, I am going to get myself a better stethoscope. I can't decide between the Littman Cardiology IV and the Master Cardiology. I've read that the new IV comes reeeeaaaally close to the sound and quality of the Master. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions that would justify one over the other? Is the Master worth the extra cost? I don't have any way to try them firsthand, but I've narrowed it down to only these two. Thanks in advance!
