  1. I didn’t have any either. However I did join ANA, I’d recommend at least joining that one. And if you’re interested, maybe one for your specialty. You can always get involved in projects or committees on your unit, I’m sure there’s plenty. Ask your nurse educator about it. You have some time to do that, since your app isn’t due until Dec. Also I’m not sure if your hospital requires a nurse residency program, but if they do, the program usually involves completing a research project. You can definitely put that on your application.
  2. I found the application process really simple and straight forward. There’s a few essay questions, a video submission, and 2 recommendations. It was however pricey—fee for UA’s app, and nursingcas as well. I didn’t have any experience at the time of the application, I applied right around the time I was graduating nursing school. However I’d have about 6 months by the time I started the program. Which I do right now, in the NICU. I actually chose to defer my enrollment for next year, but I’m excited to start! Good luck to you?
  3. I also applied for the PNP specialty for this fall. I received an email saying the nursing school is sending a recommendation for admission to the graduate college, but have not yet received the official acceptance. Have you?
  4. Hi! I'm currently looking into bsn-dnp programs, specifically online because I want the freedom to be able to move, and maybe try out travel nurses. I see that online programs have states that the program is not offered in, but to me it's not exactly clear. For example, is it just my permanent residence that matters? If I do travel nursing and chose not to have a particular "home state," then how does that work? Does it matter where I physically reside when I start the program, or when I complete it? or both? If I complete the program in an authorized state and then become licensed as an FNP, will I then not be able to move to an unauthorized state and transfer that license to it? It just seems very confusing. Thanks in advance
  5. I'm applying for the June 1st deadline, but does anyone know if they send out acceptances before August? I was admitted into UMass Amherst's program which starts in mid-August, but UConn is my first choice, so I'd hate to find out about UConn after I'd already had to commit to UMass.
