  1. Spoke with the DON at my current job and filled her in on what has happened . She was very supportive and encouraged me to fight and go to BON. She offered to do weekly UDS and to write a letter of recommendation to the board when I have my date. The only thing I keep thinking is if I go ahead and decline the TnPap and fight my case they will just force my hand to do the program anyway and I'll be left with permanent record on my license. Are my odds better with an attorney and support of employer? Honestly I want to take my chances not because I think I'll win but because I don't want to sign consent for TnPap and admit guilt to a false accusation. Going to see attorney today. Hopefully he will say something that will help me find peace with my decision.
  2. 7 months
  3. An Assistant counsel for TN BON is who contacted me and offered the program prior to setting a board hearing. I have the option to consent to the program or have a hearing. I'm scared out of my mind and afraid to loose the best paying job I've had in 12 years and financial stability. Too embarrassed to explain to them the situation. Guess it's time to put my big girl panties on.
  4. I have to decide if I want to accept the TnPap or proceed to the board. It's my understanding the board could just vote I do the program anyway. So my question is..is the only difference consenting to the program without the board the lack of record on my license?
  5. The incident happened July 2017. Contacted in Feb 2018.
  6. I did call a local attorney who does nurse license violations and he told me to offer a hair sample and explain my circumstances to the BON assistant general counsel that contacted me but she pretty much told me my options were TnPap or schedule a hearing. The attorney just said if they won't accept that to contact him and he could represent me. My main concern is affording the program without a job. If my work isn't able or willing to let me stay employed.
  7. I was stupid not to just test and then quit but in the heat of the moment I let my anger for what happened take over. Would like my chance to tell the board why and point out the fact I was the only one reported when two others were fired and also accused. To be it shows I was in fact targeted. I'm just afraid if I don't win with the board the offer for Tnpap will be gone. But my gut says stand up for myself. So don't know what to do. I still have to find the guts and words to tell my current employer
  8. No no offer to my husband nor did they report him
  9. So if I fight it and loose there will be a permanent mark on license?
  10. Wondering about others experience with TN assistance program. Only known one other and she was able to be in program without narc restrictions. Concerned about loosing my current job over previous employer and false accusations of marijuana use. I have 2 weeks to accept TnPap or go before board. Curious how long it takes to get permission to work with or without restrictions.
  11. I was accused of smoking weed at work. I was in my car on break smoking a cigarette with 2 other employees. The person who reported seeing me had been causing problems for me at work starting rumors about myself and my husband who also worked with me. I was asked to leave the night I was accused. My husband was fired the next day via voicemail so when they called to offer a drug test to keep my job I declined. I felt like we were being targeted. I told them I wasn't interested in continuing employment. They reported this to BON. Trying to figure out what the best way to handle this would be.
  12. Recently refused UDS and was reported to DON. At this point the reason doesn't matter but I need to know what options I should choose. Consent to TnPAP or go before the board with attorney. I have heard going before BON isn't the best idea. Any advice or expertise would be greatly appreciated.
