  1. Congratulations!!
  2. my u of t portal still says submitted, it never changed until I opened the portal and saw "there's an update" but when you first log in it still shows submitted. and I applied jan14 from previous forums it seems they continue giving offers until June! And it looked like end of March there was another round last year, one in April, etc. also their application deadline is April 30th so I think for sure they will keep making offers!
  3. My SGS kept saying submitted and still does but when I logged in it and opened the application, it said status update: an update on your application was last posted on March 10

  9. hi there, you sound like an extremely strong candidate!! I noticed the invited on acorn Friday night and it says eNP, I applied to the eastern program. I applied January 14th. I didn't get any updates yet on SGS for an official offer. It says to pay a deposit on acorn by March 27th
  10. Hey mine also says e-NP and my preference was also the eastern GTA stream! Maybe that's what it means? I thought it meant because it was mostly online hahaha
  11. Congratulations! did you receive it on the SGS portal?
  12. I think so it seems like from last year they sent out a bunch on March 10th at the same time!

  19. Hey guys has anyone applied to Athabasca? is there a letter of intent or essay questions to answer? Thank you
  20. Nooo I haven't still waiting!! Hi everyone I have applied to u of t & mcmaster im still working on my application for Athabasca. Hoping to finish it up soon, the process seems complicated!
  21. Has anyone made an acorn account for u of t?
  22. Hey! I am interested in applying to Athabasca! I didn't start yet, though. Is it really bad??
  23. Hey, I also felt like the York application was so disorganized! In different parts of their website I saw deadlines of February 15 and February 1 as well. I was planning to apply but I ended up focusing on my UofT application and just noticed now that it takes 3-4 business days to even access MyFiles to upload documents after paying. So I think I won't be applying anymore.
  24. Hi guys, I'm a nursing student in Ontario & was wondering if you guys have any tips that I can do right now. Is it a good idea to work as a PSW? Would that beef up my resume for when I graduate? Also, there's a camp student nurse job, however, the position is for 8 weeks long, Mon-Fri, 0830am-1730, and the pay is $2000.00 at the end of the 8 weeks. Without lunch, that would be 8 hours a day, with an hourly pay rate of $6.25. In Ontario, the minimum wage is $14.00 right now, but private camps are apparently exempt from this. My friends think that this position is not worth it as it takes up a lot of time with very low pay. The job duties look great and I thought it would help me for the future, however, I'm not sure if it is required. Is clinical experience enough for new grads to get hired after graduation? Or should I go for this camp job? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  25. Hi! I am a second year nursing student in the GTA area & I am very interested in public health nursing or community health nursing, such as working for sexual health clinics or community health care clinics with services for new mothers, those with diabetes, etc. A public health nurse who does the healthy babies healthy children program spoke to us as well about her job & it sounded very interesting to me. I am currently doing my med-surge clinical placement right now & I don't find it as enjoyable. I found maternity to be enjoyable as well, however, I think public health is something I gravitate towards more... I was wondering if careers like this would be open to new grads? What would increase my chances to get a job in this field after graduation? If there are things I can start doing now or any tips, it would be greatly appreciated! I also wonder what career advancements can come with public health nursing or community/clinic nursing? Could you do a masters degree & become a nurse practitioner? Or advanced practice public health nursing? I saw that you need direct clinical hours for some NP programs, would public health/clinic/community count? :) Thanks in advance!
