  2. Can anyone direct me...I need to know who to contact in order to apply to take the CCM exam? Any study guide books and/or CD rom guides information would be appreciated. Good luck to all who took the exam. Virginia
  3. I started as a home health nurse, they call us "case managers" but we are doing on hands care and yes, essentially managing all their care. I had an opportunity fall on my lap from one of my patients who had Medi-Cal and qualified on their waiver program, I was asked by him to be his "case manager" and after speaking to the nurse evaluator from medi-cal, I applied with the DHS, now I am starting my own home business doing this work from my office and computer. It entails making a visit once a month, preparing the paperwork and submitting it, and billing Medi-Cal. I am now starting to build my patient census and am looking into incorporating myself. DHS pays 2 hours/month per patient, most of the time is of course spent on the initial visit, then monthly you keep your own record of your visit in your records from then on. No hands on, but there are RN's who do both hands on and the case management as well. I have more than enough years of hands on care. I am looking for any other Nurses who do this waiver case management, is anyone else doing it? Virginia
  4. I just started doing case management as a home based business with the Department of Health Medi-Cal Waiver program. Strictly paperwork, no hands on. It is a change, but after 25 years of doing home health nursing, it's a welcome change, but I am not quitting the day job yet! Is anyone else doing this kind of cases? The waiver program case management is a bit different from regular case management from hospitals or for that matter insurance agencies. I would like to pick someones brains if they have started doing these cases and also to network. Virginia
