  1. My Aunt was a psych nurse for 20+ years and loved it. I am interested in things like that as well.
  2. I think corrections would be kind of interesting. Thanks!
  3. Where I live the MAs replace them in doctor's offices too. Its rare to find them now in doctor facilities and hospitals. Having a lot of nurses in my family and knowing their past experience in LTC makes me afraid. In my area they hire out the wazoo for lpns in nursing homes. Also seeing post on here makes me anxious. But if I have to then I will. I was really wanting to go into geriatrics because my love for the elderly. But I know its doable. Thanks and thanks to everyone.
  4. Thanks so much for commenting and advice!
  5. Hello Everyone , I'm not new to this site but new as a poster/member. I am not a nurse yet nor a nursing student. I am awaiting the entrance exam in 4 weeks. I'm hoping to get into my local technical college's practical nursing program. I am a single mother of two asd boys. I was wanting to do LTC, but I am terrified of the med passes. Also the nurse to pt ratio. If I am able to make it through school and the nclex would there still be other job opportunities as a lpn than LTC? I really love the elderly people. I am wanting to further my education if and when i become an lpn. I live in SC by the way. Thanks
