Hi everyone! I am a new grad working on a med surg unit. I am trying to figure out where I want to specialize. I have some interest in fertility/IVF Nursing. Does anyone have my experience/knowledge they can share about this field? Thanks!!

Career Change? Advice please!
Agreed! Yes, financially my job is stable. I just don't see myself there long term. But I don't want to up and leave for a job that will pay much less.

Career Change? Advice please!
I have been working on a Med Surg unit as a New Grad for a little over 6 months. I would love to get at least one year of experience under my belt, but I have realized more than ever that bedside nursing isn't for me. I am learning a lot but am already feeling burnt out (which I am sure is also related to being a new grad!). A little about what I am looking for.. I like the excitement of something new each day. I like to be creative. I like being outside. I have even thought of starting my own business so I can do something I enjoy, but that stability of nursing keeps reeling me back in. I have also found interest in IVF nursing, but I have a hard time finding job openings. Maybe even something outpatient? I hate to say it, because I know it's a part of nursing, but I feel a great deal of stress knowing that someone's life is literally in my hands in bedside nursing. I know it comes with the territory, but I feel other areas of nursing may not be as stressful as where I am now. Again, maybe this is new grad stress. Nevertheless - I am looking to find out other areas of nursing or even other careers obtainable with a nursing degree that I can venture towards! I don't feel like I know all that is out there!! Thanks in advance for your positive advice!

I need a job change! Advice?!
Thanks everyone for the advice so far! I definitely am not looking for an "easy" job, but would prefer something outside of the hospital. Anyone have any job suggestions and information on what those jobs entail? Thanks! :)

I need a job change! Advice?!
Hi all! I got hired as a new grad at my dream hospital about 5 months ago. I am working on a med-surg unit. I am already feeling like I want to get out and do something else. I try to remind myself that I never wanted to do this in the first place, but I knew it is where I needed to start in order to get experience! I can't help but have a desire to have a goal of where I can go next. I don't want to let this job go because I know how lucky I am to have it but at the same time I know the hospital/acute care setting just isn't for me. All I do when I am off of work is dread going back, which I have been trying not to do, but I don't want to feel that way forever. I want to enjoy work, not dread it! I am craving a job where I can go outside, work at more of my own pace, and most of all not be in such an intense and stressful environment. Don't get me wrong, I am learning SO much and it is so good for me to be working there, but thinking about being there long term is depressing. I feel like I would have more interest in a home health or public health job. I even researched occupational health at first. But I am not totally sure what they entail. Long story short, I am writing here to get advice! Anyone have any advice or knowledge on RN jobs outside of the hospital that still make decent money? I am very open to having a 9-5 schedule as well. I just don't have much knowledge about what else is out there! Any help is appreciated!! :)
