I'd be happy to work for a year or more (and then a year or more after graduation) before even applying to school if that meant I could get my tuition paid for...although that would probably mean going after a traditional BSN vs the ABSN. Is tuition help/reimbursement usually for the full cost, or just a part of it?

I'm a recovering marketing professional who wants to get my ABSN (interested in hospice/geriatric nursing). I'm 80% done with the pre-reqs for the two schools I'm going to apply to. Until it's time to apply for school, I need to make as much money as possible because I'm likely going to be considered "out of state" for tuition purposes (even though I will have lived in the state for at least 15 months before the program would begin) and, of course, you can't work during the program. Would you suggest that I switch gears and instead of getting a marketing gig for like 9 months, go for a CNA or LPN type of position and put in my dues so that I can then get a job that would pay for me to get my ABSN?? I have no nurse friends to ask any of my questions to! Thanks in advance peeps.
