Anyone else here starting at Temple on June 11? I hear there will be about 150 new hires! Very cool! It's a teaching hospital with a great reputation for new grads.

Did you hear anything yet? How do you feel about the job itself, top choice?

Sorry, just answering these - my interview was in transplant.

It was for renal transplant, which is exactly what I wanted!

If it was Kevin, that's who I talked with. He is awesome, very helpful. He went over a few things I mentioned in the video interview, so your conversation may be different than mine. Don't be too nervous, remember - if they are calling, then they probably already like you. Just be yourself!

It was for the Renal/Transplant Team! So excited! She said they are definitely looking to hire more. Nights and Days. The whole place had a great vibe!

I truly hope you are reading the above advice because they know.... I myself am a new nurse, but I am older and have had quite a few new jobs in my former life. I promise, I have felt the same and it can be tough. But you say that all through school and clinicals you loved it. Please give it time. I doubt you find too many new nurses that have not felt the way you do, and then add on moving away from home. I'm sure it is a huge struggle. But you are stronger than you think, look how far you have already come I can also relate to not making friends right away, I am an extremely friendly person but have one of those faces that does not always show how cordial I am.. I think there are acronyms that are popular right now RBF (not to say that is you, but it is definitely me - lol) and I learned a long time ago that a smile can get you further than you realize. I know it sounds very simple, but try reaching out just a little bit to some of your other nurses - any of them - just smile and maybe in the break room ask how their day is going. You are among the angels of the most respected profession - they have all been there. Sometimes we can be so deep in our sadness or be overwhelmed that we forget that we are never alone. I have also been trained by people I did not get alone with, this is no fun for sure. If you need to go to the manager, do that. If that's not something you feel you can do just yet, then as said before - take everything you can from this and know that one day you will be giving someone advice on how to get through some of their toughest times. Good luck - you are worthy of happiness, but it might need to start with you reaching out.

I see it's been a while since you accepted your new grad position, may I ask how it's going? Relocating for a new position can be scary - I'm considering it as well. Thanks in advance for any insight on the whole process - good and bad would be so appreciated.

Just received a reply from BS&W that they are still going through the "higher amount than usual" of applications. They also said that if you have not received an email - consider yourself either in the running or they just haven't had a chance to look at your resume. This is good news! Don't give up hope - there is a place for all of us out there. Nurses ROCK!!!!

Hi -guyinbabyland I know it's been a while, but I'm curious how everything turned out for you? I'm a new grad (adn but enrolled in an RN-BSN program online) very interested in relocating for an internship. I am older as well with tech and nurse extern experience. Thanks for any honest advice!!

Hi everyone and good luck. For those of us who have not received a request for video or call yet, does your application entry on the website still say, "accepting job submissions"? I am starting to wonder if I did something wrong. They told us that at the Expo that all would be considered. I know different managers/sites/departments have different time lines, so I'm trying to not get antsy :).
