I had Humara Sultana for SCC110 check her out. She cares about her students and is ready to answer if you have questions and would not even move to another topic unless you understand what she's teaching you. I would say 204 is harder because it's more on memorizing the parts and knowing the function of each part compared to 203 that is mostly just knowing the parts and the general function of the sytem. However, we all learn differently so what's harder for me might be easier for you or vice versa.

Maybe the lecture part but the lab is easier and more fun.

Wow kudos to you. Just make sure to get an A in your SCB 203. Who's your prof? I had Mcphee for SCB 203 and 204. His test are hard but he is excellent at teaching and you will learn alot. Also, my SCB 204 lab was exdcellent aswell. His name is John Clappin. If you take both of them you wouldn't have to worry about the anatomy part in TEAS V because you will learn alot. Goodluck!

Hi Lex, If you retake it they will average out your first and second anatomy grade so it doesn't mean that your first grade will be cancelled. I think your grade is not bad at all. I've seen worse that got in the program. I also had Mcphee for both scb 203 and 204 and for me he is the best professor I ever had. Most student doesnt like him because his tests are hard but he is very knowlegeable. Because of him I didn't even study for the science part of the TEAS V because I learned alot from him and guess what it was my highest score in TEAS V. I just recently took Microbiology and ask me if I learned anything? Maybe only 1/8 of what I learned from anatomy. Mostly because my professor only reads the slide and never really explains it. Plus when you asked her question she doesnt know the answer. I did get an A though.

I got A on both classes. Yea I would advise you to take the science classes in long sessions as they are heavy classes and you need time to understand the material. Plus it is part of the key course (scb 203 and chem 110) so make sure to get a very good grade otherwise it will reduce your chances in getting in the program. Are you a full time student?

Hi fellow Lagcc RN candidates, Is anyone excited for the acceptance/rejection letter to be handed out on July 11? I personally can't wait. Hopefully this fall semester GPA is not that competitive! A student said it's 3.0. Hopefully it is. I have taken all the pre-requisites and when I say all, all that is left for me are the nursing classes. I just think it's better that way since the nursing classes are very challenging. Hopefully everyone did the same thing. Try finishing all the pre-requisites before entering the program so you can just focus on the nursing class. So far all my grades are A except for Eng 101 which is B and Eng 102 which is A- and my TEAS was only 68.8%. Good luck to everyone who applied. May the odds be in your favor and to myself aswell. haha!

Really? That's good news! Now my friend has a chance. Lol! I wont be surprised if it's 3.0 because my old classm8 who got in the program last fall told me that the cutoff for spring was 3.0 aswell.

U mean for the fall candidacy? I hope so too coz I'm in it. I just found out from the department that they will email people on July 11 if they got in or not and as well a mail. Did you apply for the program?

It's only fun if you're into it and if you have a great prof. and groupmates. Make sure to make time for the tutor lab and try to get some friends to study with you coz I just think it's better that way. Go there even for an hour or two coz it will help you alot in the actual practical lab. The sheep heart is nothing compared to the rat. Coz the heart is like a hardened fat and it's not gross at all compared to the rat. The rat is a whole rat that you have to really cut open to see the organs. But it didn't really gross me out except for the smell of formalin which I can't stand smelling for a long period of time.

April, Yes there will be a rat dissection in groups not individual for 204 and a sheep heart dissection for 203. It's not that bad. Just the smell of formalin is bad. Now, depends on the professor if he/she will allow you to just watch your groupmates do the dirty work but my professor did allow students to watch if they didn't want to touch the rat. However, the dissection kit is a must I believe, even if you dont plan on participating. But it will be in your best interest to participate and dig into the rat's internal organs and the sheep's heart as they can be confusing in the practical exam. Make sure to take a lot of pics/videos and watch videos in youtubes because it helps alot. I am now waiting for the health science department to announce who got in or not in program. I am currently taking microbiology and thank god the semester is almost over. Hopefully I get in. My grades are AnP1 = A, AnP2 = A, Chem= A, Eng 101 = B, Eng 102 = A-, Mat 120 = A, and fishing for an A- to A for Micro and my teas was 68.9%. I really hope I get in and so do you. Goodluck!
