  1. Hey! I am currently in the program and I used this forum a lot last year while preparing for the interview (as you can see if you scroll back). I really like it! Definitely very different from more traditional programs. But we get lots of placement experience and having a 1:1 preceptor is great. I honestly did not know what to expect before coming in and it is a bit of an adjustment just because its very self-directed. It is a great program if you want to kind of take control over your own learning (basically you create your own learning plan and then form the semester around that). Hope this helps a bit! I think interviews are this coming week so good luck :)
  2. Hey! For webadvisor, I got a few letters in the mail when I originally applied to the program saying how to set it up and stuff! I don't have it with me right now but you should have received mail about it a while back. You can access Webadvisor through the Nipissing main page! I hope this helps :)
  3. Maybe they don't tell us in this package because they are not sure who will be accepting/declining their offers! I would guess that by June they would tell us that information :)
  4. @SPPhopeful: While I can't speak to other programs, I can speak to why I personally decided to choose Nipissing! I think that for me the biggest reason is the placement opportunities, I currently am at Queen's and while it is a great school, in the future I would like to live and work in Toronto so that was a large factor, doing placements in Kingston would not give the relevant experiences in Toronto that I wanted. As for choosing between this and UofT, I think that it maybe just comes down to the type of learner you are and as said above, relevant experiences that employers would look for. I am a hands-on learner and have found that I have really enjoyed and learned a lot in placement courses during my undergrad, so I think this program is a good fit. However, it maybe is not as well-known as UofT's! All in all I think it just comes down to your own preference :) Obviously I have not been in any of the programs so I can't talk to the exact individual pro's and con's of each.
  5. I was wondering the same, however I assume they would accept the program since it is an accredited program? We would be receiving our BScN, and we do receive marks and a GPA. Also, I found a document on the Nipissing website that translates the different phases (Inquiry, Transformative, Reflection) into actual NURS courses which I think is what the Masters programs would look at! This is just my opinion though :)
  6. Thanks so much for all this information :) I have a question, my offer on Web Advisor says 'offered conditional admission". I am still finishing my 4th year of undergrad so does that just mean I need to send them proof that I completed my degree? Or would there be something else?
  7. I got offered admission as well! congrats to you guys :)
  8. Did you also have your interviews in march? I believe when I was looking through earlier threads the interviews seemed to be later. in the year.. I could be wrong though! If that is true and our interviews were earlier maybe there could be a chance we hear in April? Having trouble waiting as well!
  9. @Ten12 : The interview went well I think! I was a lot more nervous then I needed to be, haha. They were very nice and made me very comfortable. Everything was very fast and straightforward. It pretty much went as I expected and with the questions posted by previous members in this thread and other threads. Everything is related to your own personal experiences, which makes it easier in my opinion! Good luck!
  10. Thanks, you too! I selected SickKids, but honestly found it hard to choose. But from my understanding if we get into the program you do your main placement with the number 1, but you still get to do the others!
  11. I'm also finishing up school so I totally get the busy thing I'm not sure about other questions, but maybe since they have representatives of the placement we ranked they will ask us stuff about why we ranked that place first? Just brainstorming here... also maybe basic questions like why do you want to be a nurse, why this program, etc.
  12. For sure! Thanks :)
  13. Hi everyone! I also have an interview March 12 - 12pm! Pretty nervous for it since interviews make me very stressed, hopefully it goes well!
