  1. Thank you for the replies! So, at the same ER can be mix of 8 or 12 hour shifts? Then, is it possible to get 8 hour shift part time job say 28 hours/week and then switch to 12 hour shift full time or it’s just legacy positions with grandfathered nurses only? I’m mostly interested in Sacramento area ERs specifically.
  2. Can anybody explain me how the schedule in Kaiser works. I am accustomed for 12 hr shifts 3 times a week in ER. However, looking at Kaiser jobs in Bay Area I see like 24 hr, 32 hr etc. I heard that schedules are set and they have 8 hour shifts, but 24 hours seems extremely low. So, are those positions just part time or temporary? If yes, then how people apply for 36-40 hr a week positions? In addition I heard that they have 12 hr shifts for ER. Is that true?
  3. What are the pay differences between Kaiser SF area, Kaiser Sacramento area and Kaiser Roseville area? I heard they are under one umbrella, but is the pay and benefits the same or not? Also, can anybody share experience working at any Kaiser Emergency Department in comparison to a regular Level I Trauma Emergency Department?
  4. I am trying to figure out the compensation differences LA or OC vs Bay Area. I heard a lot that there is a substantial difference in pay, but what are the real numbers? I am ER RN with couple years of experience.
