  1. Accepted!! I cannot believe it! I'm out of breath lol!! Yay!! ?? Of topic, but what class did you guys take to fulfill the area D requirement? I'm missing that part and i'm thinking of maybe taking information technologies? Looking forward to meeting everyone!!
  2. I hope they can surprise us and send the letters out this upcoming week lol! Either way I hope they can at least maybe give us a choice to take the nursing course in the summer or the fall term, I think that could work better since maybe not everyone is completing pre-reqs and have the chance to do it over the summer! Thanks for keeping us updated guys!
  3. Lol! What is your science GPA? I'm sure they use that too so it can help! There's a lot of different programs in GA depending on whatever you're looking for and what suits you best distance wise! The only programs I know of that take the HESI are brenau and ung, the others make you take the TEAS exam that I am trying to avoid ?
  4. Okaaaay I could deal with that lol. It would be helpful since a still have two or three pre-reqs I need to do over the summer if I am accepted. Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep my eye out for that ?
  5. Oh no! I hope we can hear back sooner. ? What do you mean by pushing the NURS course? Like taking it with the rest of the fall credits and having the summer semester off?
  6. Hey! I'm sure they use different stats when deciding like your science GPA too! Someone posted a point system on how they decide on applicants which makes sense. I know a lot of uni's utilize the points system when deciding. Good luck! Ace those sciences ? I'm anxious to know yes or no too at this point!
  7. I'm not a UNG student actually, i'm a transfer from GSU :)
  8. I'm taking A&P2 too! I also have zero motivation this semester lol! I was going to apply to GSU but they pushed the deadline to Feb 15 without notice so I can't make it for the fall semester. I'm also considering GGC but i'm behind a semester of pre-reqs that they want! So i'm praying on UNG lol seems like we're on the same boat ?
  9. How is everyone holding up anxiously waiting for letters to come out? ? Did you guys only apply to UNG's program or did anyone apply to any other schools in the area?
  10. Hey guys! I took my HESI a few weeks ago and I made an 88% as well! After this semester my GPA is now a 3.8. Hoping we do hear back soon!! Hoping for the best and enjoy the break!!
  11. Yup that's the one! I guess they upped their price because it's 25 now, oh well What would you guys recommend studying for the A&P section? I haven't taken A&P 2, i'm taking A&P 1 right now! I'm nervous over the A&P 2 section, pocket prep is mostly A&P 2 material from what i've noticed.
  12. Are any of you using PocketPrep? It looks helpful but i'm not sure if I should spend another $25 on something else
  13. Oh okay thanks!! Thank you for the heads up guys, I really appreciate it!
  14. Ah, thanks for the heads up! I had no idea the exam was structured that way! Do you guys remember how many questions you guys had for each subject? I want to try and time myself because I already know i'm going to be panicking lol. What is Learning and Personality Styles? I don't see that in the textbook Also, we're only tested on A&P, vocabulary, math, and reading right?
  15. Oh god! I'm nervous for the math section I haven't taken a math course in a year or so, so my math is lacking. Do you get the 3.5 hours for the whole exam or is it spit up in timed sections for each subject?
  16. Thank you! For those of you that took the HESI, what did you use to study? I'm currently using the review book from Elsevier. Is it true there is a calculator on screen when you took the exam?
  17. Hey! Have any of you applied to the program yet? Was there a fee?
  18. Thank you ehayes215!! I know the deadline is December 15 so i'm wondering if I take the HESI on December 7th my scores should be received? This is my only shot at taking the HESI and I want as much study time as I can possibly get
  19. Hi! Currently at GSU and hoping to transfer into UNG for their program. Sitting at a 3.9 GPA, haven't taken my HESI yet! I'm planning on taking it early november because I'm a nervous test taker and have been putting it off lol! My question is though, when you take the HESi, does it give you your score right away and UNG gets it automatically or do you have to wait for it to process and what not? Thanks!
  20. I'm currently taking microbiology over the summer at my school and failed my first exam... I'm afraid to fail the second one and risk getting a grade below a B and dropping my overall GPA and science GPA. I've heard that withdrawals look bad when you apply to nursing programs, is that true? Most of the nursing schools that i'm interested in applying to look mostly at your grades and not so much volunteer work and letters of rec. I completely overestimated how heavy these science courses are over the summer. It is so much content while also taking microbiology lab and statistics... I have crazy anxiety over these classes right now.
  21. hey guys, i'm currently going into my sophomore year of prereqs at gsu and was wondering if ung required community service hours and letters of req? I don't see it on their requirements but I just wanted to see if anyone else provided them? I'm interested in the ung program!
  22. I go to a big state university and was wondering how many of you have approached your letters of recs. My classes are huge with over 100 people and it's hard even getting one on one time in office hours...
  23. I'm going into my sophomore year this upcoming fall and was interested in taking either microbiology or anatomy during the summer. I'm not sure if I should take my time with anatomy and not cram it over the summer and focus on microbiology for the summer instead?
  24. i'm not sure lol. i'm assuming they're volunteering and they are learning. if i don't volunteer at a hospital am i lessening my chances of getting accepted? i have yet to volunteer or even work in a hospital. i just work part time in a pharmacy...
  25. i'm a freshman in my second semester of university and i'm taking my gen ed courses in order to apply to the nursing program. i see other freshman already drawing blood on classmates and i haven't done anything... i'm a commuter and i don't have my license to i'm pretty limited at the moment on what i can do. i currently volunteer at a homeless shelter during my breaks during classes in order to fulfill my community service requirement of my application. i'm afraid of blood as well and seeing people draw blood makes me a nervous lol. i want to be either a psych or cardiac nurse. i really want to get over this fear. i feel like i'm not doing as much as i should be doing... what should i be doing??
