I think there are a lot of patients here that don't qualify for skilled home health, but They need coordination and a little supervision to stay in their homes. They have kids that are busy with their own lives and are willing to do what it takes to keep their parents in their own home. Many of them have caregivers, but no one to look at the bigger picture. I was thinking of kind of a Concierge Nurse. Someone to help to maintain their independence, while keeping them safe, coordinating care with family and PCP etc.

Hi, I am new to the site. I work part time (weekends only), doing after hours advice for SNF and hospice patients. I have been curious about starting a business as a Nurse Consultant, visiting elderly pts at home. I was thinking of offering a visit where I would come in, check in on the patient, fill their med containers for the week, check on safety issues and overall wellbeing of the patient. Does anybody have any experience with this? We live in an affluent county that has a large elderly population. I would request private pay. I don't know if this is realistic or profitable. I would appreciate any feedack. Thanks!
