I found an LPN evening program Richmond VA
I just wanted to let anyone looking for an evening LPN class in Richmond to look into RSHT. The program is 18 months. It is a little long but you do get both A&P's, Pharmacology, medical terminology and other classes that will help with the LPN to RN bridge if you decide to do that later. The classes are Monday-Thursday 530-1030 and your clinicals are done in that time frame also, so no weekends. They will transfer classes in except nursing. They also take FASA and other financial aid. The cost is a little steep at $18k, but MCI is asking $29k for their's. If you are in the same situation I am and need an evening program but are having a hard time finding one in the area give them a call (288-1000) speak to Harry or Rachel. The next class starts 3/23/09 and they are still taking applications. I plan on attending that one.:heartbeat

NO EVEING RN OR LPN Classes available
Yea J Sargeant told me their LPN program was suspended indefinitely, that never reflects well on a school. VSU has a nursing program, but its not accredited, come to think of it quite a few of their programs arent accredited.

NO EVEING RN OR LPN Classes available
Looked into Riverside, they only start programs every 17 months and one just started in Jan 09. Yea I was surprised when they told me 80k, as I had heard 40K when I first went to look into it a year ago. Right now Im applying to all the Virginia Community colleges even if its an LPN so I can transistion to RN afterwards. Looks like if I do accepted it will be an hour or so drive both ways since I cant find a program here in Richmond. I finish my Bachelor's in Behavior Science this summer, so Im hoping to start something this Fall or early Spring.

NO EVEING RN OR LPN Classes available
What school did you take that was online? I havent been able to find online classes for nursing. I would be more then happy to do clinicals day or evening, as I work at two hospitals, Im sure I they would accommadate me as they are both short on nurses and could use the help.

NO EVEING RN OR LPN Classes available
If we have such a shortage of nurses then why are there not more evening classes offered for RN's and LPN's I have about exhausted all routes because there jus isnt any available in the Richmond area. There are no LPN evening classes unless you go to Medical Carreer Institutes which is $26k for the year and their evening RN program is 80K. What is wrong with this picture? I cant give up my FT job to go to school during the day as I am a single parent with a mortgage and bills. Something needs to be done about this. If you need nurses then you need the programs.:angryfire

Cost of LPN school these days?
Im looking at Medical Institute located in Richmond, VA Beach and Newport News VA. The LPN is offered in Richmond, where as the other campuses offer an RN program(Richmond is suppose to get it within the next year). The LPN program is about $25000 to include $100 assurance amount each month from me, since these type of schools are not authorized full financial aid. This class last app. 18 months depending on what you walk in the door with, Im looking at about 12 months, then when I bridge add the other 6 months. The RN program is about another $2-3 to bridge. Add that on top of my $25000 already taken out to complete my Bachelors..LOL. The $25000 does not include food or gas. I am thinking about doing the traveling nursing, even with an LPN that is about $33 an hour, up to $40-45 with I get my RN.:trout:
