  1. Got a call March 1st saying I was accepted to the psych DNP track, a few days ago got the official email. This was my second time applying to the program so to everyone else I hope you never give up on your dream if it is still where your heart is next year, etc. Good luck to all and may you all have a normal sinus rhythm!!! Cheers! :)
  2. @bcnurseperson I got offered one but just accepted admission to a different program. Good luck to everyone!!! SU nursing professors are fantastic... wishing everyone the best and a normal sinus rhythm!! :)
  3. @littlefeets Not yet
  4. @littlefeets Nice! Oh yeah you will for sure pass, then you can officially call yourself a nurse :) Best feeling ever... Sending you good NCLEX vibes!!! Keep in touch!
  5. @littlefeets That is so cool! I bet you will get in!!! When do you take the NCLEX? Not gonna lie, I studied a LOT for it. I paid for the Kaplan course and did every single practice question they offered. Sounds like no RN's have heard news from SU yet... I think we are still in the running! :)
  6. @Jtravelstheworld That is wonderful to hear! Thank you for sharing :) I went to SU for my undergrad in nursing so if there is anything I can help with just let me know...
  7. I applied to UW too but that's it, how about you? Wow! I bet you'll get in!!! That's great you have volunteered and also have crisis line experience... I'm in the same boat as you I think, I feel pretty good about everything except experience lol I have a 3.8 in psychology from UW, 3.6 in nursing from SU, and 1.5 years experience in a med surg unit. As far as extracurriculars go, I volunteered at Lifelong AIDS Alliance, taught refugee kids English, and am currently on an infection control committee where I work. I really really hope we get in!!!
  8. @littlefeets Just to clarify, you have not heard anything back yet??? Thanks for sharing!
  9. @littlefeets Awesome! Being a midwife sounds like an amazing path... I hope you get it :) So you did not apply to the APNI program? I'm pretty shocked their is an APNI forum but not one for RN's applying to the DNP program, I wonder why that is. Maybe there are a lot less RN's applying to the DNP program than non-nursing majors I guess. I actually went to Seattle University for my undergrad in nursing so if there is anything I can help you with, let me know! I loved my time at S.U.
  10. @littlefeets Also just an fyi, I haven't heard of any RNs at all that have gotten an answer good or bad so I think we are still in the running... fingers crossed!
  11. @littlefeets I am an RN and I have not heard back yet. Trying to remain positive!!! :) What track did you apply to? How many years of experience do you have as an RN? I hope we get an answer soon!
  12. @albipes I did it on here in the NP forum! I'm not on FB lol I titled it Seattle University RN-DNP 2018... Unfortunately no other RN's have posted on it though. Thank you so much for your response!!! That makes me very happy to hear! What track did you apply to? What type of nursing are you currently doing? I applied to the psych DNP track. I have a BA in psychology from UW, a BS in nursing from Seattle University, and I currently work on a med surg unit that is kinda known as the "step down ICU" at UW Medical Center... I have a lot of interests but being a psych DNP is my dream!!! I have a background in neuro and the mind body connection just fascinates me. :)
  13. I heard that if you are invited for an interview, you are a top applicant and basically just have to not screw it up lol Be proud of getting this far! You'll do great!!! Really wish there was a forum like this for RN's that applied to the DNP program at SU... I tried creating one but no responses yet lol Would love to know if any RN's have been invited to interview yet for the DNP tracks they applied to... I saw earlier in this forum that they invite the APNI applicants for interview first, then the RN's...ugh. Anyhow, good luck everyone. Never give up! :)
  14. Hey everyone! This is for people who are already RN's and applying to Seattle University's DNP program. (I am applying to the psych NP track and have been an RN for 1.5 years at the time my application was submitted). I know the APNI cohort has begun receiving interview requests for top applicants, has anyone who is already an RN gotten an invitation to interview for any DNP track??? If so, how was your interview? What DNP track did you apply to? What are your stats if you don't mind sharing (years of experience as an RN, what type of unit you work on, GPA, educational background, etc). I'm still hopeful but must admit I am getting anxious waiting lol... thanks!
  15. I'm not sure, could be the essay or maybe I just needed more experience... There are a ton of amazingly qualified applicants that apply every year. I'm just going to keep learning and trying!!! lol
