I am looking for what I need to keep in mind while negotiating the salary as an APRN for a general surgeon. I know that in the first few months, but not initially I will also be his first assist on surgical days. I am not sure what the going rate for this is to request in addition to base salary. As well there are some other additional small procedures that I will be doing in office that I was told I need to ask for compensation for. It has been discussed as well that I will do additional educational classes not during office hours for bariatric communication for gastric sleeves, bypasses, etc... As well call time during the time the surgeon takes call and on weekends. I am looking for advice from anyone with experience in these areas and what I need to request salary wise to compensate for these additional job duties not within the normal job description or duties of this position. I am aware different areas will be more or less, but I am looking for an around about estimate if at all possible..... Thank you!!!
