I got a call today!

My friend and I interviewed for NICU, and neither of us have heard back from them. They said they would make a decision by yesterday, so I am not sure if that means they are behind on contacting people, or we were not selected. My status on workday is still "under consideration," has yours changed?

I have had hospitals update my portal as complete and then email me for an interview afterwards, but also leave me in that status for months as well. I’m not sure what this means at choc. I hope you get an interview!

On a thread for this program in 2019, someone said it was 35/hour. I have no idea if that information was accurate, or if it has changed since then. Has anyone received offers for the NICU? I know they said next week they would get back to everyone, but that is not always the case.

That is fantastic, the stars were aligned! No one wants to feel like they have to say "yes" to the first offer before knowing what options exist.

Did something happen with Long Beach memorial that made you want to decline their offer for NICU? I am curious if nothing works out, if it is worth applying there again next round.

I talked to them about that in the interview because the hospital I was trained in is a level 4, and they said they are looking to train new grads for a level 4 now. I think they may have more recently increased acuity levels they treat.

No need to apologize at all. It’s good to know to stop looking. A written offer is legally binding, so you got it!

No, I was under hiring manager review for quite a long time before they updated my portal with a “no longer considered by hiring manager.” It’s OK, I have several NICU interviews scheduled with pediatric hospitals since I have many hours of experience in the NICU already. I hope you get the job and best of luck to everyone!

Don't lose hope yet. It sounded like internals are being interviewed this week, and external applicants are being offered appointments for next week at this time. Tomorrow is still possible for you! If you know anyone there, this is a great time to reach out and remind them you are interested in the position.
