  1. Hi Everyone! To all those who are going to accept their offer to Nipissing's SPP program for 2019, I have created the Class of 2021 facebook group. ? Look for Nipissing SPP Class of 2021
  2. I will make an official S.P.P Class of 2021 on Facebook tomorrow. Please keep an eye out for the link. :) Thanks! And congrats to all!
  3. Go to OUAC and accept ?
  4. Last year the interviews were done a week earlier than this year. So that may account for something. I'd say just wait till April 1st to check then ?
  5. Hey guys! Last year I found out I was accepted via web advisor about 2 weeks after my interview. A acceptance package was sent to my house a few days later after it showed up on websadvisor ? Also, once you see if your accepted on webadvisor... go to OUAC to accept it! hope that helps!
  6. I'm so happy that this thread could be of use to you all! Please let us know here on the thread what the outcome is in April. I will then make a class of 2021 on Facebook ?
  7. Best of luck everyone! Thanks @Nora110 ?
  8. Just practice, practice, practice! Have someone mock interview you a bunch of times.. that really helped me ?
  9. Last year, it was just one interviewer and they were a rep for one of the organizations that host our 9-week practicum placement. I interviewed with the rep for Toronto Public Health - she was really nice and made me feel super comfortable. They will be timing you for your NI question which I believe is 3 mins allotted. Also, I remember her writing down notes while I was talking. It can be distracting, but I suggest to just keep looking forward at them and smile! ?
  10. Yes I did write a few pages of point form notes with my answers, but I kept them in my bag during the actual interview. I would suggest memorizing what you wrote down, instead of reading right off the sheet ?
  11. Hey! When I interviewed last year I did not receive a reply to my interview confirmation. I would just say call the registrar office if your worried that your email didn't go through ?
  12. So I checked through my computer and I realized that the Clandinin and Connelly (2000) is actually a book and I purchased it on Amazon last year before my interview. You can check your local library if they have a copy. For anyone who goes to York U, they have a few copies at Scott Library. My apologies, I thought it was an article you could find on Google Scholar. I've attached other articles I used to get a sense of what N.I was in the field of nursing. Hope these help! Etowa Duah and Kohoun 2017 CHN students perspective article.pdf What makes a good nurse.pdf Moving from Field Text to Research Text.pdf
  13. No problem! I believe I had my interview on March 10th and it was about a 3 weeks later I found out. ?
  14. So when I got to the interview, I was given the a blank sheet with question about courage on it and told to write a response. I was give sometime to do it but not long, about 20 mins from memory and then I handed in the sheet. There wasn't much instruction on it. I don't believe I was asked any questions about it, but they most likely looked at it.
  15. Narrative inquiry is the pedagogy that Nipissing SPP has based the curriculum around - specifically an article written by Clandinin and Connelly (2000) - I'm on my mobile phone but I will attach the article to this thread later, as well as other ones I read for my interview last year. My advisor for my application last year said this to me in an email and if really helped: I recommend that you prepare to the point that you can speak about what narrative inquiry is and how it is done. Why is this type of learning important? Come with a strong reflection. best of luck guys! I KNOW how intimidating and scary this process is. I applied to ONE school last year (being the SPP program) - just try your hardest and let your sparkle shine!
  16. Hey guys! I don't know why but I haven't been getting notifications, so I missed all your posts! Once we Nipissing sends out acceptances I'll create a FB group! I had my interview last year on March 10th. My greatest advice is to just PRACTICE! If similar to last year, they are going to give you a specific question that you will need to do research on and then have 3 minutes to answer. They will also ask you other regular interview questions like what are your strengths, why are you an ideal canadate etc. As well, when I got to the interview last year - we had to write a 1 page response to a question revolving around courage. I can't remember the specific question, but we were give like 20mins or something to write a 1 page reflection answer. wishing you all the best!
  17. Hey there! How's everyone doing with their applications?
  18. I dont think the ranking matters! And from my experience what they are really concerned with is a strong supplemental application! Best of luck & happy holidays :)
  19. Im sure you will be fine! I was actually accepted for this year Fall 2018 but deferred my admission to Fall 2019. As long as your culmative average where they want it, from memory I think it's 75% percentile? You should be good! Just focus hard on your supplemental application! That's where it really counts! :)
  20. Hi there! Looking to connect with others who are applying to Nipissing University's Scholar Practitioner Program for Fall 2019.
  21. Thanks so much! Trying to plan my wedding haha and I want to be finished school :)
  22. Do you know when your graduation date is? You said you were are in the 2017 year and you will graduate 2019 -- Which month? Just trying to plan out an important date for after graduation for when I graduate in 2020 :)
  23. So we would just ask before the next semester begins if we can be switched to a different organization? I thought someone said above that people from hospitals and TPH do a switch anyways so that they can experience a hospital setting.
  24. Do you think this schedule will be updated for 2018-2020 dates?
  25. Me too! I will try to find out! Can you let me know if you get any information on this? Thanks in advance :)
