  1. Hello everyone, I am an RN BSN currently in an orthopedic department where I do educational teaching and work very closely with our total joint population. I teach the total joint class and meet with each patient one-on-one to make sure they understand the entirety of their surgical journey. I have wanted to continue my education and work towards my MSN. I do enjoy teaching, but I also enjoy the hands on care as well, so I am looking more towards a nurse practitioner degree. My question is this; if I were to continue my education towards a nurse practitioner degree, would there still be ample opportunities for me to get into a faculty teaching position as well if I chose to go that route one day? Or would I need more education to be considered in those types of positions (ie, nurse educator degree)? Thank you in advance for your help.
