  1. I am 39 and had my first child at 18. It too was very much unexpected and i missed out on a lot for the next few years. I didnt regret him, not once but started to make up for the years i lost when i was in my late 20s. I had my fun and settled down again with my now 2nd husband. We have 2 other children who are now 3 and 6, my son is now 21. I was sorry to miss out on the years i lost but have got a wonderful son who i couldnt imagine life without.
  2. Hi everyone. I am a first year student who is wondering if i am doing the right thing in choosing nursing as a career. Most of the nurses i speak to do not enjoy the job and are forever complaining about it. I was very excited about going into adult nursing but would hate to do all this hard work to get there only to regret it at the end. I need some positive feedback please to keep me motivated.
  3. Just wanted to say hi to everybody. I am new to this site and new to nursing. Just finished my first placement and in need of a good break not to mention a good drink. I have a family to take care of also. How do you get through 3 years of hard work with uni, placements and family. I need some good solid advice on how to keep sane through it all. Thanx from a worried student.
  4. Hi there, you are feeling just how i was last year, i am 39 now and in my first year as a student nurse. My first thoughts where am i to old to start all this. I have 3 children, one is grown up now and i have to little ones. I am finding it quite hard juggling my time between uni, placements and i am still working as a carer at weekends but i know it will be worth it in the end. I keep wishing i had done this years ago but didnt really have the opportunity to do it. I am so glad i bit the bullet and just went for it. Its a whole new world for me now and am really enjoying it with no regrets. you go for it.
